Cumming, GA – JYPT100 and NGS Hoops teamed up to host the “Kings of the South” tournament this past weekend at Dobbs Creek Recreation Center in the greater Atlanta area. Nearly 120 teams from across the Southeast packed the six-court facility, drawing more than 1,500 spectators and creating one of the most electric atmospheres of the spring circuit thus far. The eighth-grade division stood out as the event's largest, featuring 34 teams and a deep pool of talent. He ran the court hard in transition and proved to be a dependable finisher when attacking the rim in the halfcourt. He brought great energy as a defender and rebounder, staying actively involved throughout the game. When given time and space, he appeared comfortable creating off the dribble and was able to get into the lane with relative ease while also connecting on a few perimeter jumpers.

Morris established himself very early in the Class of 2029 due to his scoring prowess and athletic gifts. A fearless competitor who brings a tremendous motor and gridiron toughness to the hardwood, Morris continues to find ways to consistently produce even as his initial size advantage has leveled out. The explosive guard thrives in an up-tempo system, whether pushing the pace as a primary ball-handler or taking on a scoring role. He was relentless from start to finish at the “Kings of the South” tournament, helping his team complete an impressive championship run.

Taylor continues to boast one of the most impressive physical profiles we've witnessed in the Class of 2029 to date. A fluid, rangy prospect, he is comfortable operating on the perimeter but has the size and athleticism to contribute inside as well. During the “Kings of the South” event, his two-way versatility was once again undeniable, and his flashes suggest significant long-term upside. The next step is for Taylor to consistently elevate his aggressiveness and production in high-level competitive settings, as he has the necessary makings of an elite prospect.

Stay tuned for more from Prep Hoops Next!
