Grafton Spoilers: Season Review

The ND high school basketball season is in the rearview mirror, but we are taking a look back! Prep Hoops Dakotas is publishing a series of Season Reviews to help recap and celebrate the season.   We are looking at a Class A squad, the Spoilers from Grafton!   Shout-out to [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] for being selected as a First-Team All-State Player! Also, [player_tooltip player_id='1632619' first='Reggie' last='Rice'], [player_tooltip player_id='1632630' first='Brody' last='Lillemoen'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] for being named to the All-Region 1 Team!   See below for player comments, stats, and an interesting Q&A session.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/04/image_aa6324.png"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/04/image_aa6324.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2834636" style="width:332px;height:auto" /></a></figure>   Head Coach: Riley Lillemoen   Class: A   Region: 2   Record: 13-11   Grafton Spoilers   Player Comments from Coach Lillemoen   [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] sr. 6'7" - "Was the loan returning starter from a team that finished 3rd place in the 23-24 state tournament. Kyler put up huge numbers, most games playing against double and triple teams. He was the second leading scorer and leading rebounder for the Spoilers. He was the Regions leading rebounder. He plays a physical game, which allowed him to flourish defensively and on the glass."   [player_tooltip player_id='1632630' first='Brody' last='Lillemoen'] jr. 6'7" - "Was a first-year starter after being a key contributor last year on the Spoilers State Tournament run. He led the Spoilers in scoring this year and was the second leading rebounder. Brody also led the Region in scoring. His ability to score at all 3 levels made him difficult to guard. His length allowed him to guard multiple positions as well."   [player_tooltip player_id='1632619' first='Reggie' last='Rice'] jr. 6'6" - "Was also a first-year starter after being a key contributor last season. Reggie has the ability to score at all 3 levels and was a good facilitator this season. He flirted with a triple-double a few different nights. He was asked to play out of position a little bit this season and did a nice job adjusting. His length and athleticism allowed him to guard multiple positions."   [player_tooltip player_id='2630708' first='LeeRoy' last='Delgado'] sr. 5'11" - "Was a first-year starter. He came into the season with very little varsity experience. He adjusted well as the season progressed, and he became more comfortable. He was a pest defensively and was playing his best basketball at the end of the season."   [player_tooltip player_id='2630718' first='Tyan' last='Storey'] jr. 5'11" - "Was a first-year starter. He also had very little varsity experience coming into the season. Ty is a physical player that used that to his advantage whenever possible. He improved his rebounding and defense as the year progressed."   [player_tooltip player_id='2834690' first='True' last='Moberg'] fr. 6'0" - "Came off the bench for the Spoilers and did a nice job of filling a role. He did the dirty work and was able to knock down shots when he got the opportunity as well."   Alex Galarza sr. 5'11" - "Came off the bench as a more of a defensive specialist. His athleticism made him a great defender, and he contributed in several games for the Spoilers." "The season didn't end the way we had hoped. We had a goal of making the State Tournament again, and we came up short. We had some high expectations at the beginning of the season. We did improve as the season went on and were playing our best basketball during the Region Tournament."   PHD: Do you have any fun memories you want to share with us?   "[player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] scored his 1000th point during the Region Tournament."   PHD: How did your team overcome adversity?   "The season was a bit of a roller coaster. We competed well and won the games against the teams at our level. We struggled with the top teams in the state for most of the year. During the Region Tournament, we played well and gave Devils Lake and Four Winds really good games. It was nice to be playing well at the right time."   PHD: What are a few things your team improved on throughout the season?   "We became more cohesive throughout the season. This group hadn't spent a lot of time on the floor together before this season. It took some time for everyone to get on the same page."   PHD: Can you talk about your seniors?   "We graduate [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'], [player_tooltip player_id='2630708' first='LeeRoy' last='Delgado'], and Alex Galarza. All three provided good leadership and worked hard throughout the season to improve.  Kyler's 19 points and 15 rebounds a game will be tough to replace. He was also a physical presence for us that we will need someone to step in and fill."   PHD: Who was your best defensive player?   [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] was our best defensive player. His length and physicality allowed him to guard multiple positions.   PHD: Who was your top interior player?   "[player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'] was our best interior player. He is a physical player who has nice moves with his back to the basket. His ability to step out and score from the outside made him really difficult to guard."
