As many of you know, I've spent a lot of time covering Wisconsin prospects. But I haven't done as much Wisconsin coverage since I moved out of the state. Luckily, I saw a handful of teams from there play down in Romeoville Sunday. I didn't see everyone, but I did make a list of some notable names while covering Wisconsin teams on Sunday. Here's some names that impressed.

JCobi Mathis - Wisconsin Playground 15u UAA

Mathis was probably the best pure scorer I watched this weekend. It sas fully on display during the opening half of their matchup vs M14z. very crafty as a ball handler who knew how to blow by his opponents. As a shooter, he buried multiple triples with ease. Unfazed by contact in this one with a pair of and-one conversions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2304321' first='Emmett' last='Munson'] - Wisconsin Playground 15u UAA

Munson's a 6'4” PF who does a little bit of everything for Wisconsin Playground. I'm a big fan of his interior strength and he utilized that well against M14. Winning almost every rebound battle in his area and getting points the hard way. He also excelled at setting screens. Helping free guys open at a consistent clip. Even his passing was on-point.

Deshawn Pope - Wisconsin Playground 17u

Pope is a three-level scorer for Wisconsin Playground who can find the bucket in so many ways vs Ignite. Hit a 3-pointer early on. He also buried a midrange floater over two defenders. Followed that up on the next possession with an explosive drive to his hoop for a layup. Did a good job with ball control throughout the contest. Scored 22 in a close loss

Paul McNeil - Wisconsin Playground 17u

McNeil is an aggressive slasher for Wisconsin Playground with tons of upper body strength. Scored 20 points in his first game Sunday. Covered him more in his second game against Ignite where he finished with 17 points. Finding the bucket using a quick first step to the rim. Capable of finishing with both hands inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2401404' first='Owen' last='Ayite Atayi'] - [program_tooltip program_id='2076031' first='Wisconsin' last='Hoops Select'] 17u

This is a guy small schools will LOVE to get their hands on. He's a very lengthy 6'3” combo-guard who's been one of the best defenders I've watched this weekend. He found his way vs Illinois Force. Forced a few turnovers pick-pocketing defenders and intercepting passes. Even made plays to others in transition. Added a tough and-one in the second half of this game. Strong all-around performance in a blowout win.
