The North Dakota high school basketball season is in the rearview mirror, but we are taking a look back! Prep Hoops Dakotas is publishing a series of Season Reviews to help recap and celebrate the season. Fun Memories from Season   "Bus rides to practice are always fun with this group, and then watching them play together in practice and watching them grow throughout the season."   Overcoming Adversity   "Overcame adversity by just continuing to push each other and keep pushing forward together. Had some injuries this year also, and had some other kids step up and play well."   Team Improvements   "We did a really good job of sharing the ball for the most part, can always nitpick, but overall we passed up good looks for a great look. Rebounding again was pretty solid more times than not."   Role Players   "[player_tooltip player_id='2417346' first='Luke' last='Nitschke'] came off the bench, probably would've started for several other teams, Luke could shoot it well, was a good communicator on the floor, and was much tougher than last season, so he helped on the boards. Luke also guards any position up to the 4 spot when asked and will continue to get better and stronger. [player_tooltip player_id='2542801' first='Jaden' last='Brandenburg'] "freshman" came off the bench halfway through the season and gave us a boost in shooting/ballhandling and basketball IQ, solid player who will just keep getting better also. [player_tooltip player_id='2255561' first='Kade' last='Nitschke'] before suffering a major injury was a starter who could shoot well and was just a great teammate with solid IQ."   Seniors   "We had only two seniors, [player_tooltip player_id='1935092' first='Joseph' last='Kramlich'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2255543' first='Brad' last='Kinzler'], though they will be greatly missed, both 4-year starters. Joe was our best athlete and ball handler, and had a game where he had 17 steals! Brad has the season and career record for most 3's for our school!"   Up-N-Comers   "We have a large freshman and sophomore class that should be a key to our future success here at EKM. Freshman, Nathan Schiele, [player_tooltip player_id='2542801' first='Jaden' last='Brandenburg'], Colin Barnick, [player_tooltip player_id='2400058' first='Briggs' last='Schlosser'], Ty Lloyd, Tate Mathern. Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2672184' first='Braden' last='Brandenburg'], [player_tooltip player_id='2417346' first='Luke' last='Nitschke'], Ross Fredenburg, Drew Enzi, [player_tooltip player_id='2114976' first='Brogan' last='Young'], Trent Johnson. [player_tooltip player_id='2114976' first='Brogan' last='Young'] started as a sophomore and is the best of the bunch coming back next year out of the sophomores, and [player_tooltip player_id='2542801' first='Jaden' last='Brandenburg'] is the same for the freshman coming off the bench this season."   Best Defender   "Joe Kramlich was our best defender. He could guard anyone from 1 to 4 and the smaller 5's. Physically strong and super athletic, he was an out-and-out shut-down guy."   Interior Players   "We had two solid bigs this year in [player_tooltip player_id='2255562' first='Drew' last='Nitschke'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2672185' first='Brady' last='Hanson']. What made them effective was that they worked and played well together. Both are good and willing passers, whether to each other or a teammate. I would like to see both of them be more aggressive next year!"   Final Words On The Season   "It was an up-and-down season this year, and we finished 17-6, but the future should be bright here with everything we bring back."
