Earlier today we released the updated 2025 prospect rankings. Here are 10 of the Fastest Stock Risers:

[player_tooltip player_id='2293837' first='Owen' last='Cheng'], Highland: The 6-foot-2 Cheng was one of the Hornets' unsung heroes this past season and played a major role in Highland advancing all the way to the Class 4A state championship game. He scored a team-high 16 points, connecting on four 3-pointers, in 17 minutes of action in the semifinals win over Albuquerque Academy. He finished the season with the second-highest number of 3-pointers (36) on Highland behind sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='1687821' first='Jesus' last='Licon'] (61).

[player_tooltip player_id='1548691' first='Jackson' last='Fudge'], Roy/Mosquero: Fudge wrapped up an incredible career at Roy/Mosquero by helping to lead the Blue to the quarterfinals of the 1A playoffs. In 2024-25, he led Roy/Mosquero in assists with nearly 3 per game along with contributing 8.6 points and 5,6 rebounds per game. He finished his career with over 1,100 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1695665' first='Nathaniel' last='Gonzales'], Robertson: Gonzales was a solid contributor for the talented Cardinals as they won the Class 3A championship with a victory over rival St. Michael's in the title game. Gonzales was incredibly consistent over his career. This past season he averaged 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, and finished his career with over 600 points, 300 rebounds and 100 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1488493' first='Rian' last='Gonzales'], Volcano Vista: Was there a better 3-point shooter in Class 5A this season? Probably not. Gonzales, of course, set the state single game record with 17 triples during a game against Piedra Vista in early February, finishing with a staggering 62 points. He continued his assault on the 3-point arc all season and had three triples in the state championship game win over Sandia.

[player_tooltip player_id='1914013' first='Channing' last='James'], Pine Hill: Per MaxPreps, James finished the 2024-25 season as the state's No. 4 scorer overall at 23.0 points per game, and the No. 2 scoring senior. But what's especially impressive is his 72.2 shooting percentage. He made 223-of-309 shots from the floor, including 56-of-93 3-point shots (60.2 pct.). Pure shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292960' first='Zaire' last='Ndyabagye'], Sandia: On a Matador team full of stars, the 6-foot-7 Ndyabagye stood out for his all-around game. Offensively, he could fearlessly drive to the basket or calmly drain 3s from beyond the arc. He finished the season by averaging 15.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. Colleges were impressed. Less than 24 hours after scoring 32 points and hitting 6-of-7 3-pointers in the semifinals win over Hobbs, Ndyabagye was offered by New Mexico Highlands. Earned First-Team All-State honors.

[player_tooltip player_id='2684184' first='Ray' last='Venegas'], Organ Mountain: Although Organ Mountain suffered a disappointing home loss in the first-round of the 5A state tournament, the Knights enjoyed a successful regular season and district tournament with dual titles. Part of a balanced offensive attack, Venegas finished as OM's second leading scorer at 11.1 points and nearly 4 rebounds per game. He earned First-Team All-District honors

[player_tooltip player_id='1580325' first='Joseph' last='Zamora'], Magdalena: The 6-foot-5 Zamora earned First-Team All-State honors in Class 1A after a season in which he averaged 19.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game to help lead Magdalena to the state tournament semifinals. Zamora concluded his career with over 1,700 points and 800 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2684214' first='Mason' last='Montoya'], St. Pius X: Montoya was one of the top scorers in Class 4A this past season and was named District 4A-5 Player of the Year. Montoya helped lead the Sartans to the No. 1 seed for the 4A playoffs. First-Team All-State honors.

[player_tooltip player_id='2684208' first='Tre' last='Cowles'], La Cueva: La Cueva entered the 2024-25 season with the expectation that it would be a rebuilding year. But Cowles made sure that wasn't the case. The Bears battled all season long and finished second in District 5A-2 behind Sandia. The Bears reached the quarterfinals of the 5A state tournament. Cowles was La Cueva's second-leading scorer (11.3 ppg) and second-leading rebounder (5.8 rpg).
