ORANGE — Gerry Freitas held his annual SoCal Senior Showcase on the campus of Santiago Canyon College on Sunday which featured unsigned senior prospects from across California and Arizona. Below we take a closer look at some of the top playmakers we saw.

Antonio Kellogg, Jr. | Ygnacio Valley

Kellogg (pictured) is your prototypical paint-touching combo guard who uses his combination of speed and quick-twitch athleticism to get into the lane in transition and half-court offense. Kellogg is a savvy finisher around the basket who can use the glass or pivots off of two feet to create space for an easy two.

Bishop Brooks | DNA Prep

Brooks is a 2024 graduate of West Ranch high school and was best known in high school as a consistent catch-and-shoot threat from three-point range and off-bounce shooter from the mid-range level. Brooks showed Sunday that his ball handling and off-bounce creating for teammates has took a big step forward during his prep year.

Darrell Morris | AIA Prep

Morris also capped his high school career at West Ranch and did a post-grad season at AIA Prep in Ohio. The 5-foot-10 point guard was one of the better on-ball defenders during his prep career and his ability to pressure and speed up opposing ball-handlers and force turnovers will translate to the next level. Morris is also a dynamic transition driver and finisher around the basket.

DJ Holt | Aveson

Holt, a 2024 graduate of St. John Bosco, is a physical downhill driver whose combination of speed and strength allowed him to get into the lane, collapse the defense and either make a play for himself or a teammate. Holt plays with a high basketball IQ, great pace in transition and half-court offense and uses his frame to absorb and finish through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404086' first='Donald' last='Thompson'] | Washington Prep

Thompson is an intriguing talent with his combination of playmaking and scoring feel. The wiry 6-foot-1 guard is a shifty creator in isolation situations and can knock down off-bounce mid-range and three-point shots with consistency. Thompson flashed dynamic passing ability and vision in transition offense.
