When you look at the progress and development that Barclay made from freshman year to his senior year you notice the change he made in his game and his body. Barclay was a sharp shooter in the corners and he would occasionally drive to the basket as a freshman. This year he dominated the entire season and he was a force all over the floor. It was hard to find a flaw in his game but he was making teams pay with his three-level scoring ability. His level of play also rose with the level of competition. Braclay would ask for the ball as he wanted to be the guy and most of the time he was. Seeing double and triple teams he found ways to score or impact the game.

Next Level Skill Set

At 6'8 Barclay brings a lot of versatility and when you look at the players making the biggest impact in the game he fits that mold. That mold being a bigger guard that is physically ready for the college game that can create his own shots. Barclay has a solid outside game that he can really lean on as he could rattle off three after three with a smooth shooting touch. That high release and the slight elevation will let him get his shot off over bigger defenders. He can catch the ball on the move and he is elite at just catching and shooting on kick outs. He has a quick release to go along with his sharp fundamental shooting motion.

When it comes to his game in the post a lot of teams tried to push him off the blocks but he adjusted very well as he got comfortable in that mid-post area. His soft touch and that shooting ability was also put to use in that mid-post area and that is something that he could use at the next level. That quick turn around jumper and face-up game could easily improve at the college level with a lot of reps.

All of these skills that Barclay has translate to the next level. It will be exciting to see him play locally as well.
