The state finals had some solid floor generals on display, and here are a few that fit the bill…

[player_tooltip player_id='2330460' first='Kane' last='Rushing'] (6'0/PG/'27/Hubbertville)

Kane is a young floor general who plays beyond his years. He is shifty off the bounce and has a good understanding of the lead guard position. He does a really good job at getting two feet in the paint and making plays against a collapsed defense. He shows a high level of intelligence as he plays like a coach on the floor, and he still has a lot of development in front of him, which makes his growth worth watching.

[player_tooltip player_id='2814978' first='Kadyn' last='Mitchell'] (6'0/PG/'25/Houston Academy)

Kadyn is a lead guard who has a good understanding of how to lead a team. He has a mature floor game, as he knows how to control the tempo and get teammates involved. He is really good at getting paint touches and has a game that draws fouls when on the inside of the defense. He puts constant pressure on the defense, and with the attention he draws, he forces defenses to make adjustments constantly throughout the course of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2786939' first='Wade' last='Segrest'] (6'0/PG/'25/Glencoe)

There is nothing flashy about Wade's game, as he does a really good job at balancing scoring and facilitating. He shoots the ball well from deep, and his maturity and experience are seen in how he orchestrates the offense. He showed resiliency in a really tough and competitive game but was not rattled and competed at a high level in the Final Four.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415229' first='Jermaine' last='Tate'] (6'0/PG/'25/Vigor)

Jermaine is a lead guard who orchestrated the offense and shot the trey ball well when left open. He thinks the game at a high level, which is more than likely a result of his experience. He was composed under pressure, and his leadership at the lead guard position is one of the reasons why his team raised the blue map this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415223' first='Ke'Viasz' last='Malone'] (5'7/PG/'25/Vigor)

Ke'Viasz is another reason why Vigor was able to raise the blue map. He showed tremendous craftiness off the bounce and was a really good distributor of the rock. He never lets up and forces opponents to play both ends of the floor. He may be small, but his impact at the lead guard spot cannot be overlooked as to why Vigor had the success in which they did.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415207' first='CJ' last='Scott'] (6'4/CG/'25/Guntersville)

I covered CJ and his squad earlier in the season, and I knew they would be in the conversation late in the season, and my thoughts were solely based on the play of CJ. He leads not only by his play but also with his voice. He has good positional size and does a really good job at controlling the tempo and keeping his teammates involved. He is a lead guard who makes the right decisions on both ends of the floor, as he has a high PG IQ. He also can provide scoring from the lead guard position.
