Class 4 State Semifinals Friday Standouts

Vashon will meet St. Joe Benton in tonight's championship game. He scored a game-high 34 points and he got his buckets in every way you can imagine. He showed his athleticism as he threw down three slam dunks. He had a smooth stroke from 3-point range and he could attack the basket and hit the mid range or score in traffic at a variety of angles. He also got to the free throw line as he made 13 of his 15 charity tosses. He also added eight rebounds, two assists and three steals. His shooting stroke was pure as he made eight of 12 of his field goal attempts and three of five from long distance. His jumper looks like it is going in every time he releases the ball. He displayed his show-stopping athleticism with some very entertaining dunks, as he always likes to do. He opened the second half with three consecutive dunks that had the Mizzou Arena buzzing. Most of his point came on slam dunks as he did a good job of catching the ball off dribble penetration and slamming it home A couple of them were with a defender hanging on his back. He has good mobility and activity which enables him to have a strong presence on the defensive end. When the Wildcats were coming back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter, he was in the middle of it with some timely 3-point shooting.
