March 15th-16th I attended the Attitude of Gratitude High Academic Camp. There were exactly 60 campers with 6 full teams.

It was a unique experience for the campers since actual college coaches were the camp coaches of the 6 teams. A bunch of new players were at the camp and the players that shined had the college coaches talking to them after the games.

Here were some of the standout Senior Newcomers

[player_tooltip player_id='2812020' first='Kuanen' last='Yak'] The Academy Phoenix (Pictured)

A hyper athletic wing is a very twitchy athlete who will dunk it impressively. He is long and a somewhat lean wing who can get downhill with some contact. He can euro step to the basket, hit the three or catch a lob dunk. He is also a good defender in space and can make a play for a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812029' first='Peter' last='Wani'] The Academy Phoenix

A thicker wing forward can score and defend inside. He is a good rebounder using his size and girth. He can hit the three off the catch with deep range and score it inside with reverse layups using good body control. He can also dunk it on the break. He was very steady and consistent in all four games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2554020' first='Ebrahema' last='Jaiteh-Kabba'] Mountain Ridge

A scoring combo guard will fill it up with coast to coast layups in traffic after he rebounds the ball. He can shoot from mid-range or fall away from his defender and hit threes from deep. He is very competitive on defense and the high academic guard is tough to contain.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812955' first='Adrien' last='Njeanwobe'] The Academy Phoenix

A strong upper bodied power forward can play above the rim on the break. The southpaw powers thru traffic and will score using his man's body and girth. He is a sneaky good passer and will defend multiple positions inside the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812152' first='Kaiden' last='Thompson'] The Academy Phoenix

A bigger combo guard is a very good passer. His IQ for the game is high and he really sees the court well. He can shoot it from the perimeter and is sneaky athletic to dunk it on the break. His passes are always on time and thinks the game. His quick drives were tough to handle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812031' first='Evandro' last='Bequessa'] The Academy Phoenix

A wing forward is a good passer up the court who can thread the needle. He will score with downhill layups in traffic and he is super fluid to dunk the ball. He handles the ball well and can create a little plus hit the catch three. He is super competitive on defense to block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812023' first='Feolami' last='Onabote'] The Academy Phoenix

A super fast wing forward is a blur in the open court. He is mostly a downhill threat with an impressive layup package but he is a capable catch three point shooter. He is a decent passer and will dunk in on the break showing some vertical pop.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812164' first='Samuel' last='Criado'] Buena

A defensive minded point guard is a pass-first type. He is a good passer who gives high effort on defense to collect steals. He can score in transition and moves without the ball plus can make a play for a teammate. He will also go grab offensive rebounds to score.
