5A State Tourney: Under the Radar SEPA Prospects in 1st Round

Below is a preview of “under the radar” prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania who college coaches need to watch during the 1st round of PIAA 5A state tournament.    Altman has been described as a “3 & D” prospect as well as a “glue guy”. Chose which ever description you like, just be sure to give this multi-skilled lefty the credit he deserves for helping UD to the District 1-5A title. Altman owns a pure jump shot with a quick release and NBA range. He is especially effective at knocking down threes off kick out passes. Altman can also fill a lane on the fast break and then finish through contact. In UD's D1-5A semifinals win over Upper Moreland, Altman canned 3 triples on his way to 11 points. On defense, Altman is a menacing on-ball presence. By the end of Summer 2025 circuit, we predict Altman will be a household name.     Grana is a ridiculous athlete who is also a highly decorated track and field star.On the hoops court, the long, fast, and bouncy prospect excels in the open court. Once he gets to the rim, Grana (7 ppg.) can cap off a fast break with a creative touch or a hammer dunk. Grana is also an effective spot up three-point shooter. He drained at least one triple in each of Hershey's playoff wins during their march to D3-5A title. Grana can also work the offensive glass for second chance points. Back in early January, Grana scored a season high 15 points (3 3PM) against Lower Dauphin. At the other end, Grana is a plus rebounder and under rated sot blocker.     Jackson is a fast and agile hybrid-forward who averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds per game as the fourth / fifth option for Bonner. However, he flashed his scoring potential in several games this year. For example, he posted 17 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Plymouth-Whitemarsh. Jackson recently tallied 16 points and 6 rebounds against Archbishop Wood. Jackson can score in transition as well as on dives to the cup and via the offensive glass. He can also operate in the dunker spot where his wingspan and hops enable him to finish over defenders. Jackson has flashed the ability to step out to the arc and drain a three.     McDonald is a multi-skilled guard with a high IQ. He can work as a primary ball handler who facilitates for teammates, directs sets, pilots the fast break and scores off dribble drives. The trifecta of McDonald's court vison, unselfish nature and live dribble passing make him a fantastic distributor. Or McDonald can slide to the shooting guard spot and stretch the floor with his accurate long-distance stroke. Plus, McDonald owns the speed and finishing skills to score in transition. Back in late January McDonald recorded 17 points (2 3PM) and 8 boards against William Tennent. Last week McDonald scored 10 points in HGP's District 1-5A championship game loss to Upper Dublin.
