The 2024-25 SCHSL State Championships began on February 27th and continued through March 8th at the Florence Center in Florence, South Carolina. This was a great opportunity to have some of the best the state has to offer under the same roof. The final State Champion crowned was Greenville High School in Class 5A Division Two. Check out my Class 5A D2 All State Championships Team, featuring two players from the State Champion, one from the runner-up, and one from each of the Upper State and Lower State runners-up:

[player_tooltip player_id='1958970' first='Frank' last='Whitley'] (Greenville) - [player_tooltip player_id='1958970' first='Frank' last='Whitley'] had one of his most dominant performances of the season in the Red Raiders double-overtime win over Goose Creek in the 5A D2 State Championship. He posted a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double while only missing four field goals and two free throws. His efficiency was best displayed in the paint where he could use his size advantage to get post position or battle on the glass. However, he also showed off some good ball-handling moments and looked as mobile as I have seen him since his knee injury last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1624061' first='Caden' last='Coleman'] (Greenville) - Like Whitley, it's hard to make a case for Greenville that Greenville would still be State Champs without the addition of Coleman. Caden is one of the state's best mid-range shooters and has an elite ability to hang and finish on both jumpers and interior shots. He also beat his defender off the dribble often and had some great shot contests on the defensive end. Coleman averaged 21.5 points per game in the semifinal and final.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172573' first='Ja'Quell' last='Brown'] (Goose Creek) - Brown is another Junior Guard who had a terrific showing at the State Championships. Ja'Quell was the Gators' leading scorer this year and put up two big games, going for 20 points in the Lower State Championship Game and 27 points in the Upper State Championship Game. That 27-point outing included an amazing, fading-away, buzzer-beating three to send the game to overtime. Brown is a great shooter, but he also works hard off the ball and will put his body on the line to make winning plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1414724' first='Deuce' last='Kinloch'] (Berkeley) - Deuce had a nice performance despite the loss to Goose Creek in Florence. He put up 11 points, including Berkeley's only made three in the game. Listed at 6'6", Kinloch has good positional size and he uses that to deter opponents on the defensive end. He is a productive rebounder and solid shot blocker, so adding double-digit points is always a major plus to his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470144' first='Logan' last='Parker'] (Fort Mill) - Parker did as much to help his stock this season as any member of the Class of 2025. He does so much to help the Yellow Jackets win games, including shooting, playmaking, on-ball defending, and will even draw a charge. Logan was used on and off the ball throughout the season yet always stayed engaged in the game. He put up 17 points in Fort Mill's season-ending loss to Greenville in the Upper State Championship.
