In this article, we take a look at all of the ranked shooting guards in the class, with a look at some of the shooting guards who raised their stock in the final rankings update and a look at the players who made their rankings debut in the final installment.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/position-ranking-table {"name":"acf/position-ranking-table","data":{"class":"2025","_class":"field_65cfb7374abb9","position":"77248","_position":"field_65cfbfcb19ad6","national_rankings":"0","_national_rankings":"field_660c1d73c0e49","state":"96","_state":"field_65cfb88a603fe"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-67e41afb1ed1b"} /--> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Stock Risers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2204878' first='Kaleb' last='Wilgenbusch'] (Xavier, #129 to #66): </strong>Wilgenbusch had a great senior year on both ends of the floor for the Saints, averaging 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.2 steals on 54-37-71 shooting splits. He's a smart, versatile defender, talented playmaker, and good shooter of f the dribble and the catch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1759949' first='Andrew' last='Rotzoll'] (Clear Creek Amana, #137 to #76): </strong>Rotzoll is a big-time shooter who buried just under 44% of his 3-point attempts in his senior year for the Clippers. He shoots it really well off the catch, moves well without the ball in his hands, and developed over the last year as a ball-handler and playmaking threat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1759940' first='Talan' last='LaFrentz'] (Denver, #146 to #85): </strong>LaFrentz is another player who really developed and improved as a creator for his teammates over the last year, dishing out a team-high 4.5 assists as a senior to go with nearly 21 points per game. He's a good athlete with size, length, and three-level scoring and shot creation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2397210' first='Brody' last='Buck'] (Madrid, #123 to #94): </strong>A smart, talented floor leader, Buck was the calming presence throughout the Tigers run to the Class 1A title. The lefty can create looks for himself and his teammates off the dribble, is a solid defender, and he shoots it really well from the 3-point line, especially off the catch. He had 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.1 steals per game on 53-39-71 shooting splits. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1839807' first='Ryan' last='Treptow'] (Jesup, #191 to #102): </strong>A skilled combo guard with good size, length, and athleticism, Treptow put together a great senior year for the J-Hawks, averaging 20.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game on 46-37-72 shooting splits. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>New Additions</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(141) [player_tooltip player_id='2811905' first='Max' last='Burgmeier'] (Central DeWitt): </strong>A 6-1 off-ball guard, Burgmeier shoots it really well off the catch, burying 42.4% of his 3-point attempts as a senior for the Sabers en route to averaging 15.7 points per game. He provides some secondary playmaking, dishing out 3.2 assists a game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(180) [player_tooltip player_id='2820130' first='Peter' last='Young'] (Treynor):</strong> A strong guard who can absorb contact and finish at the rim, Young contributes on the glass in a major way, pulling down 5.9 rebounds per game, and he's an active defender. He can knock down shots from the 3-point line off the catch, but is best when he's attacking.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(283) [player_tooltip player_id='2820081' first='Mahdi' last='Al-Atabi'] (Senior): </strong>A 5-11 guard who can score from all three levels, Al-Atabi did a lot of nice things on both ends of the floor in his senior year for the Rams, averaging 5.8 points and 1.8 assists per game. He handles it well, can shoot it off both the dribble and the catch, and he sees the floor well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(307) [player_tooltip player_id='2820164' first='Austen' last='Mathern'] (Gladbrook-Reinbeck): </strong>Mathern is a really good shooter, especially off the catch, who moves well without the ball in his hands. He knocked down 40.5% of his 3-point attempts while averaging 12.1 points per game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(321) [player_tooltip player_id='2820112' first='Landon' last='Vogel'] (Jesup): </strong>Vogel did a little bit of everything for the J-Hawks as a senior, ranking second in scoring (11.3) and assists (2.0) while serving as the team's top perimeter shooting threat, knocking down over 40% of his 3-point attempts. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
