CLAA Tournament Class of 2028 Standouts

Prep Hoops Missouri spent the weekend watching the action from the Carroll Livingston Athletic Association Tournament, which was held at Tina Avalon. In the championship game, Brunswick defeated Hale 72-68. Brunswick is the No. 2 team in Class 1. Higbee defeated Northwestern for third place and Hardin Central defeated Tina-Avalon in the consolation championship game.   The tournament showcased some very talented Class of 2028 players who are making their mark in the CLAA as first-year varsity players. Here is a look at those kiddos.    The 6'2" guard is one of the bright young talents in the CLAA with a huge upside. He is an impact playing coming off the bench for Brunswick with his size, athleticism and perimeter skills. He was scoring in the lane with smooth, athletic drives and he has a nice mid-range jumper. He also impacts the game on the defensive end with his length.     A 6'0" wing player who came off the bench and produced seven points in the first half in the championship game. He entered the game and immediately started to make things happen. He is a good athlete who plays with constant motion and activity. He was getting buckets on some sharp cuts and and hustling for offensive rebounds and putbacks.     A 5'9" point guard who broke out with 22 points in a first-round victory. He was very effective at slashing into the paint and making things happen. He played very well off two feet in the lane, where he would either get a bucket or draw the contact.     I was very impressed with the play of this young forward in the third-place game against Higbee. He plays much bigger than his actual size because he is physically strong and he has good footwork and positioning around the basket. He has a solid body and he used it well to score inside and he loved the contact. He was also boxing out somebody on every shot attempt.     A 5'6" point guard who has worked his way into a senior-laden starting lineup. He has good quickness and he really puts it to good use of the defensive end. He was moving his feet and keeping ball handlers in front of him. He also distributes the ball very well.
