Player Spotlights: 2025 DFW Area Playmakers That Have Impressed

Throughout the season so far, many players have made big plays for themselves and their teammates, but there's been some players who are doing it on a consistent basis and deserve the recognition. The DFW area produces a lot of talented playmakers, and the players mentioned below have displayed their playmaking abilities throughout the season proving they deserve to be among the best playmakers in the area.    ISchool of Lewisville is one of the best teams in Texas, and one reason why is due to the excellent guard play of Lawal this season. Lawal is a pure point guard that can control the pace of a game with his handles and IQ. He's active in finding the open man in executed plays or in transition. Plays well coming off screens often using the screen for an open shot or to dish to the open man. He's also a three level scorer and a well rounded guard that affects the game in multiple ways.     Cranford has been impressive so far throughout his senior campaign. Playing for a highly ranked Rockwall Heath team, Cranford has excelled in his role as a floor general for his team. He's a quick and twitchy guard with a shifty handle. Has the ability to break down defenders one on one to make the defense collapse and find the open man. Can create shots for himself and has the ability to score around the basket and knock down jumpers. He's had high number assist games this season showing off how his passing ability positively impacts his team.     An athletic and fast guard, Pack has been the driving force to helping his team be successful this season. He plays with good aggression on both sides of the floor which helps him create more opportunities for his team due to his knack for finding the ball. Is a good passer when driving and kicking to the wing. Has shown his ability to make sharp passes to where only his teammates can get it. His athleticism laterally allows him to get past defenders to find opportunities to score around the rim himself or dish the ball to an open shooter or cutting player.     Scott Jr is an unselfish player who can play well on or off the ball to help his team execute at a high level. He doesn't rush and force bad plays whereas he is more of a composed guard. Has the ability to score at all three levels and plays with his eyes up to find open teammates. Knows the right ways to attack and squeeze a defense to dish the ball to a player in position to score. His first step is quick which allows him to get an advantage over defenders to create plays.     A player who just recently recorded a triple double, Burris-Llamas has shown his ability to be an all around guard. He has good speed with the ball and is active in looking for the right pass when going downhill with the ball. Is good at penetrating and finding weak spots in the defense to attack. Excels at making skip passes and accurate mid or full court passes when on the fast break. His touch around the basket is good and plays with good strength when in the paint.     Leonard is ultra quick guard that can blow past defenders with ease. He has a high IQ and tends to make the right passes to help his team's offense flow. Has the tools a good pure point guard needs such as handles, good lateral athleticism, good eyes, and the ability to create. Has a good mid range jumper and can be a threat to knock down threes.
