Prep Hoops stayed on the Grand Strand last night with a game up at Carolina Forest HS in Myrtle Beach. The Chiefs from North Myrtle Beach came to town to play the host Panthers. Who ended up winning the game? Who played well? Well we have you covered right here at Prep Hoops. SUBSCRIBE today and jump on board by using the passcode "Swanny30" at checkout to save 30% off your first billing cycle. #RecruitThePalmettoState

Panthers Defeat Chiefs:

The Carolina Forest HS Panthers defeated the North Myrtle Beach HS Chiefs 59-48 last night at the Black Hole. The Panthers move to (11-3) on the season while the Chiefs fall to (11-8).

Panthers Get Strong Showing from Freshman:

[player_tooltip player_id='2544211' first='JJ' last='Gray'] comes from some pretty strong blood lines. His dad Justin Gray is currently the Head Coach of Coastal Carolina University. Gray played at Wake Forest University before having a lengthy career playing pro ball. JJ finished with 18 points in the win for the Panthers. He came into the contest tonight averaging 20.9 ppg tonight for the Panthers.

JJ plays one step ahead of his teammates with his ability to pick up plays and feel for the game. He was able to drop some floaters in the lane when he wasn't stalking the baseline at times. Standing at 6-foot-4 already look for him to keep growing a bit more. He was able to knockdown some three-pointers here today. JJ sees the floor very well and shows to have a solid set of handles so far at his young age.

Chiefs Have Senior Dominated Team:

The North Myrtle Beach HS Chiefs have a senior dominated team. [player_tooltip player_id='1485125' first='Wells' last='Hill'] brings toughness to the backcourt. Hill really is crafty at times on the way to the bucket with the ball. He was able to use ball-screens and finish on the left-side of the rim on several occasions tonight. Wells finished a few mid-range pull-ups tonight for the Chiefs. He finished with 13 points in the loss tonight.

[player_tooltip player_id='1356855' first='Landon' last='Cloninger'] is a Quarterback in the fall for the Chiefs football team. Landon was able to knockdown some three-pointers here tonight for 13 points for the Chiefs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2165470' first='Noah' last='Louder'] started the game on fire scoring on a few three-pointers from each corner to get the Chiefs out to an early lead. Louder an undersized post has a thick frame to knock around some folks in the paint. He likes to play face up and has a soft touch to do just that. Noah finished with 11 points tonight.

CJ Oxendine finished with 8 points in the loss tonight. CJ really likes to play his game going to the basket for the Chiefs. He was able to jump-step his way into the paint on several occasions this evening.

Unsung Hero:

[player_tooltip player_id='2733041' first='Nick' last='Zincone'] came up big down the stretch tonight for the Panthers. Zincone a junior guard finished with 16 points. Nick scored 3 straight buckets in the 4th quarter to take the Panthers lead to 50-41 with 4:04 left in the game.

The new formed beach region will be a fun one to watch this season. Make sure to stay tuned to Prep Hoops all year long for all the latest basketball coverage in the Palmetto State. #RecruitThePalmettoState
