6A Boys Atop the Totem Pole

The 6A conference is consistently filled with some of the most talented prospects and top-tier coaches statewide. As conference play kicks off, fans eagerly anticipate thrilling matchups every night. Each season brings new contenders, and this year is no different. Take a look at who's currently dominating the 6A.   The 6A Conference is split into two divisions, West & Central. We'll have them intertwined here, but labeled, as we focus on the best overall from both sides together.   Atop the Totem Pole   Jonesboro Golden Hurricane with a 20-1 record sit at the top peering over the complete group. Coming out of the 6A Central, they are an extremely well-coached group that produces collegiate players yearly. Their solo loss on the season comes from a competitive squad out of Texas and they are undefeated in Don Riggs sitting at 16-0 at home.   Springdale Bulldogs are led by an ESPN Top 100 guard and Arkansas Razorback commit. They have been impressive this season approaching 20 wins, currently 19-3 but 7-0 against conference opponents. The Reddogs, as they're also known, have solid guard play, likely the best in the 6A West, with depth on the bench at the position.   Har-Ber Wildcats have been one of the hardest teams to figure out in the 6A West this year with their elite scoring output from their senior leaders. Although the scoring hasn't led to as many wins as you'd think, they are pulling together meshing and clicking at the right time of the season entering conference play where they're 6-1.   Bryant Hornets, missing a main component all year have been able to lean on each other and rely on younger players to step up big. They have been learning and growing no matter the matchup or the outcome their strengths are still proving to be enough to pull out wins in close games in the 6A Central down the stretch.   North Little Rock Charging Wildcats still have some doubters to prove wrong in the 6A Central. They are a solid group mixed with upperclassmen and a couple of the top freshmen in Arkansas, they play together through teamwork and hustle relying on the older guys to pick up the play and teach the younger guys on the fly.   Fayetteville Bulldogs have a mature team with guards and wings that fill multiple roles on the court. In the mix in the 6A West, they share the ball and grind out wins by putting up numbers on the board. They've lost a few pieces and replaced a few this season which has them gaining consistency later in the season.    [player_tooltip player_id='2021786' first='CJ' last='Larry'] is a well-rounded player who excels in crucial moments, thriving both offensively and defensively. Standing at 6'3″, his physicality and smooth ball control help him dominate in transition and with midrange pull-ups. On defense, he anticipates plays, pressures opponents, and forces turnovers, showcasing his ability to draw charges and make game-changing plays.     Luke is a versatile player with a standout inside-out game. He excels at grabbing rebounds, making smart passes, and scoring efficiently with solid fundamentals. He is a timely and reliable shot maker who's not rattled in the moment.     Sealy stands out with his dynamic skillset, using his size and athleticism to dominate on the court. He navigates through defenders with ease, showcasing his scoring ability while also creating opportunities for teammates. Additionally, he's an accurate 3-point shooter, both off the dribble and coming off screens.     Hudson is a versatile stretch forward, known for his ability to block shots and grab rebounds. He scores efficiently near the basket and provides strong defense in the post, while also being capable of hitting shots from beyond the arc. A lob threat who excels at finishing plays even through physical contact.     Muldrew is an up-tempo guard who plays with aggression and agility, able to score from all three levels. He's a tough matchup, using quickness and sharp ball handling to get defenders on their heels. Muldrew excels at getting defenders on his hip, driving downhill, and finishing strong at the rim.     Wood is recognized for his exceptional shooting ability, which he uses to create space and drive to the basket. His ball-handling is smooth and efficient, enabling him to play a simple, effective game. On defense, he's smart with positioning and defends 1-3.     Bead is a versatile guard known for his ability to control the flow of the game, whether with the ball or off it. His impressive playmaking skills are enhanced by excellent ball-handling and court vision. In addition to orchestrating the offense, Bead is a confident scorer, hitting sharp jump shots or driving through tight defenses for finishes.     RJ is a high-IQ, confident shooter. He consistently scores from beyond the arc. As a facilitator, he looks to create opportunities for teammates by keeping the ball moving and finding cutters. He also excels in off-ball movement, spaces the floor well, and is an underrated rebounder.     Barnes is an impactful prospect on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he actively looks for scoring chances in the lane while also setting up his teammates for success. He defends the perimeter well with intensity and effort looking to create turnovers.     Bryant handles the ball well under pressure, drawing defenders in to attack the basket and absorb contact. His ability to break through defenses makes him a constant threat. Additionally, his scoring is growing with confidence from deep range.     Brown excels showing great ball-handling and the ability to anticipate his teammates' movements to make precise passes. His quick, skillful dribbling helps him get by defenders, while his consistent jumper from mid to long range keeps defenses on edge.     Toston is a dynamic player with speed and size, who consistently drives to the basket for powerful finishes. With a keen sense of his teammates' positioning, Toston excels at setting up plays and creating opportunities. He has 3 level-scoring talents and solid defending across multiple positions.
