<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2681011' first='Xavier' last='Abernathy'], Bloomfield</strong>: Abernathy, a senior, has enjoyed a strong start to the season by averaging 11.5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 4.5 steals in the Bobcats' first two games. He's made 8 of his first 14 shots. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2680987' first='Jordan' last='Brown'], Moriarty</strong>: Brown started the season well from an individual perspective by scoring 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the FT line in a close loss to Bernalillo. Moriarty hosts Jemez Valley Thur. night.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684205' first='Sam' last='Goats'], Farmington</strong>: The 6-foot-6 Goats is showing a nice shooting range in the early going, connecting on 5-of-12 3-point shots with 17 rebounds and 4 steals in 4 games. Farmington reached the championship game of the Capital City Tournament last weekend. Goats was named to the All-Tournament Team.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684214' first='Mason' last='Montoya'], St. Pius X</strong>: Montoya has helped spark the Sartans to a 4-1 start to the new season. St. Pius has already beaten Valley, Robertson, Manzano and Albuquerque Academy.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684212' first='Mika' last='Pando'], Lovington</strong>: Before last night's road loss at Clovis, Lovington had won three of its first four games, all against Texas opponents. Pando is averaging 16.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684233' first='Brody' last='Prochnow'], Oak Grove Classical</strong>: OGC is a Class 2A program based in Albuquerque. Prochnow has led the way as the Owls are off to a 3-2 start. He scored 31 points in a win over Grady on Dec. 5. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2682910' first='Justin' last='Rubio'], Estancia</strong>: Rubio averaged 13.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in Estancia's first 3 games of the season. He's been very reliable shooting the basketball.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2682886' first='Tyson' last='Thompkins'], Cloudcroft</strong>: Thompkins looks to form a nice scoring duo with Rylee Paul this season. Thompkins had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals in the season opener, a testament to his all-around skills.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2677085' first='Angelito' last='Villa'], Valley</strong>: Villa got off to a solid start with a combined 39 points in the first two games of the season against St. Pius X and Belen. He had 23 points and 6 rebounds in the Vikings' win over Belen.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684845' first='Chase' last='Walton'], Raton</strong>: In addition to being a solid football player (the Walton name is practically synonymous with Raton FB), Chase is a pretty good basketball player as well. In Raton's first 5 games, he averaged 8.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 2.6 steals per game. Gritty player. </p>
