There were a number of remarkable individual performances around the state last week. Below we take a look at eight of the top Class 1A showings from the second week of action in a series that we plan to continue throughout the year, hopefully without too many repeats!

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1460951' first='Eli' last='Dee'] (Baxter) -- 50 points (20-39 FG, 3-9 3P, 7-10 FT), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 9 steals [vs. GMG]

Dee's 50-point explosion is the new high-mark in the state in the young season, and is going to be a really difficult number to top. The scary thing is that he didn't shoot it all that well from the 3-point line in the explosion, an area that he has established himself as one of the best in the state, so we could've easily been looking at mid-50s in points here for the explosive junior guard.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1622174' first='Luke' last='Hellige'] (Holy Trinity Catholic) -- 37 points (12-24 FG, 5-12 3P, 8-9 FT), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal [vs. West Burlington]

The 6-5 wing did everything he could to try and lead the Crusaders to an upset win over West Burlington last Friday night, dropping 37 points on efficient shooting, but it wasn't quite enough. A skilled wing with good size and a pure stroke, he showed the ability to score from all three levels, knocking down shots from all over the floor, and doing so both off the dribble and the catch. He's a versatile scorer and talented playmaker who sees the floor well.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1765506' first='Brady' last='Boulton'] (Montezuma) -- 36 points (11-21 FG, 5-12 3P, 9-9 FT), 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 1 block [vs. GMG]

A big-time scorer and playmaker, Boulton has been one of the state's elite scorers in the 2026 class since his freshman year, and he showed why against GMG. A talented guard who has really improved as a playmaker and ball-handler over the last 18 months, he can score from all three levels and does a great job using his scoring prowess to open things up for the rest of his teammates.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1781875' first='Carter' last='Schwab'] (Bishop Garrigan) -- 35 points (12-19 FG, 5-11 3P, 6-8 FT), 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal [vs. Newell-Fonda]

Bishop Garrigan is off to a really nice start to the season, posting quality wins against Lake Mills and Newell-Fonda last week. The 6-2 Schwab (pictured) was great against the Mustangs, dropping 35 points on better than 60% shooting as well as controlling the glass. A tough wing who can finish through contact around the rim as well as knock down shots from deep routinely, he's enjoying a breakout junior year.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2721760' first='Asher' last='DeBoef'] (North Mahaska) -- 28 points (11-20 FG, 3-5 3P, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds (6 offensive), 4 assists, 3 steals [ vs. HLV]

DeBoef was good last season for the Warhawks, and has taken his game up yet another level to start the 2024-25 campaign, including this stellar outing against HLV. He looks to have improved as a shooting threat from the 3-point line, is still great on the glass, and flashed impressive vision and playmaking against the Warriors.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1587315' first='Kooper' last='Julseth'] (Northwood-Kensett) -- 17 points (7-16 FG, 0-1 3P, 3-4 FT), 17 rebounds (9 offensive), 1 assist, 5 steals, 6 blocks [vs. Rockford]

A 6-5 wing who can do a little bit of everything, Julseth dominated the game on both ends of the floor against Rockford, posting an eye-popping double-double, with a ridiculous nine offensive rebounds, to go with 11 stocks, making a huge impact on the defensive end. His versatility on both ends of the floor is a major asset for the Vikings.

2025 SF Nolan Sandholt (Easton Valley) -- 18 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3P, 3-4 FT), 13 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks [vs. North Cedar]

Sandholt nearly matched his entire 2023-24 assist total (13) in this outing, posting the first triple-double of the season against the Knights. A 6-3 forward, he was in complete command of the game throughout, scoring around the rim, dominating the glass, and finding his open teammates for easy looks.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1436503' first='Colby' last='Eskildsen'] (Northwood-Kensett) -- 20 points (9-17 FG, 0-1 3P, 2-3 FT), 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 7 blocks [vs. Rockford]

One of the most talented two-way players in the class, Eskildsen, like his teammate Julseth, dominated the Warriors last week, posting 10 stocks of his own to go with a huge double-double. He possesses great size and length, which he pairs with good instincts and athleticism to control the game on the defensive end of the floor and sparks his offense.
