Current River Challenge 2026 Standouts

Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2026 standouts what we watched at last weekend's Current River Challenge, that was held at Van Buren High.    The 6'6 post player had a strong performance with 18 points in a victory over Alton. Big Will used his 250+ pounds to muscle folks around in the low post plus he had good footwork. He create space well inside and can score with his jump hook over the left shoulder. He also passed it well out of the post. I like Big Will.     The talented 5'10 point guard was excellent in the Indians victory over Class 1 power Chadwick. He finished the game with 17 points and six assists while draining five 3-pointers. He's a smooth playmaker and shooter with a high basketball IQ. He can also create well off the dribble.     The 6'0 shooting guard was tremendous against Chadwick as he scored a team-high 20 points, including a five of seven performance from 3-point range. He's hit a variety of shots from distance which included a pull up jn transition and a nice step jumper.     A 6'2 southpaw guard who shined in Liberty's victory over Twin Rivers. His game is very smooth and under control and his passing skills are excellent. He could drop a backdoor dime to a cutter or skip one over the defense to a shooter. He was also hitting the 3-pointer off the catch.     A 6'1 guard who led the Cardinals to a victory over host Van Buren. His offensive fundamentals are sound and he is hard to speed up. His mid range game is good and he can light it up from 3-point range. He is also an unselfish passer.     A 6'7 forward who had a major presence on the defensive end against Twin Rivers. He was blocking shots left and right while sealing off the middle. His positioning was also very good in the post. He also threw a good outlet pass to start the fast break.     A 6'1 small forward who used his strong body to get tough buckets in the lane. He's a resourceful offensive player who scored 21 points against Billings. He could operate well in tight spaces. He was good at drawing contact and he had a nice spin move in the lane to score.     A 6'3" guard who had a game-high 21 points in the Dons victory over Summersville. He has good size and length for the position and he uses those attributes well at both ends of the court. He facilitates offense well as a playmaker but he can also get buckets. He can shoot it well from 3-point range and he can also slice into the lane to make plays. He can also create steals with his good defensive instincts to get transition baskets.
