Carthage Invitational Tournament Standouts

Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of players who caught our attention from watching the final day of action at the Carthage Tournament. Raymore-Peculiar defeated Carl Junction to win the championship in an exciting overtime contest. In the third place game, host Carthage defeated Webb City.    A 2026 shooting guard who had a tremendous performance in the championship game with a game-high 32 points. The final three came on a dramatic 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Ray-Pec the victory and the championship in overtime. He ended up making four triples in the game. He is a potent scorer who plays the game with a level of athleticism and excitement. He can score at all three levels and he is also an impressive dunker in transition. He attacks well and can get two feet in the lane effectively to score.     Pictured: A 6'1" 2025 point guard who earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team with his excellent play off the dribble. He has strong handles and crafty moves, which makes him very difficult to keep out of the paint when he wants to penetrate. When he breaks down a defender, he is capable of scoring at a variety of angles with his body control.     A 6'3" 2027 wing who is an impressive young player who earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. He has good length, which he displayed on the defensive end where he went out and blocked a 3-point attempt. He's very fluid on offense and he plays within himself. He has a nice pull up jumper and he was also hitting the open 3-pointers from the corner.     A 5'11" 2025 guard who led the home team to a third-place finish with his terrific perimeter shooting. He scored 28 points in the victory over Webb City in the third place game, with many of his points coming from long distance. He finished the game with six 3-pointers made. He was moving off the ball and coming off single and double screens ready to shoot and he let fly with his quick release.     A 6'4" 2025 small forward who scored 15 points in the championship game to help Ray-Pec to the victory. He has good size and athleticism for his position and he was very effective in the transition game. He was also very successful when he was slashing into the lane. He was also an active defensive player who plays the passing lanes well.     A 6'0" 2026 guard who provided a dramatic moment in the game when he hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to send the game into overtime. He is solidly built and he uses his strength to get into the lane and he doesn't mind finding contact on his way to the basket. He showed some good body control as he either got to the free throw line or got the basket and the And 1.     A 6'1" 2025 guard whose athleticism was in full display throughout the tournament. If he wasn't throwing down slam dunks in transition, his teammates were throwing him alley-oop passes, which he was throwing down with regularity. He is also a solid ball handler who was getting downhill on the dribble.     The 6'2" 2026 guard scored 18 points in the victory over Webb City in the third-place game of the tournament. He has excellent athleticism to go along with a nice stroke from 3-point range. He can also make things happen on the drive with his excellent bounce around the rim.
