Both teams filled each other out in the early going and kept things close. Broughton jumped out to an early 12-8 lead but Willow Spring would keep it close in the first thanks to the efforts of [player_tooltip player_id='2532751' first='Brady' last='Williams'] in the painted area. After 1 quarter, Broughton led 15-13.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page'] got his offense going following a steal and a dunk but Willow Spring still hung around at 22-20 halfway through the second quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='2532751' first='Brady' last='Williams'] began to exert himself for Willow Spring right after that, driving and getting to the free throw line. Two 3-pointers from Brayden Tuttle would boost the lead to 28-23 for Broughton with just under three minutes left. A 3-pointer from [player_tooltip player_id='2198969' first='Xavion' last='Terrell'] made it 32-29 with just under 40 seconds left. A made free throw from Ryder Randolph before the half would make things 32-30 at the halftime break.

Broughton opened the half scoring the first five points before Willow Spring responded. Two minutes into the third, the Capitals led 37-32.

With 3:50 remaining, Broughton built the lead out to eight points at 44-36 behind the scoring prowess of [player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page']. A 6-0 spurt from Broughton with Page out would make things 44-40 with 2:19 remaining.

Page was right back then after that but Willow Spring would keep it close again at 45-42 with 1:52 remaining in the third quarter.

A 3-pointer from Ryder Randolph woould tie things up at 45 but [player_tooltip player_id='1876923' first='Hudson' last='Fitzgerald'] would score a lay-in on the opposite end to put Broughton back up 47-45.

Things would speed up in a hurry over the next two minutes as [player_tooltip player_id='2532751' first='Brady' last='Williams'] knocked down a 3-pointer but [player_tooltip player_id='2691018' first='Storm' last='Taylor'] would do him one better with a 4-point opportunity before the end of the quarter. Taylor's 3-pointer made it 54-50 headed into the fourth as he was unable to convert the free throw.

A 3-pointer from [player_tooltip player_id='2198969' first='Xavion' last='Terrell'] would open up the scoring for Willow Spring in the fourth, making it 54-53.

Broughton would build the lead back up to 60-55 before Willow Spring responded but the deficit would remain five as Page would respond once again with a bucket of his own to make 62-57 with 4:09 left in the game.

The magic number was still five points for Willow Spring as they trailed 66-61 with 2:49 remaining following a layup from [player_tooltip player_id='2532751' first='Brady' last='Williams'] on a broken play.

A 3-pointer from Williams cut it to two points at 66-64 with 2:00 minutes left in regulation. Four points from Christian Watson would put Broughton back up 70-64 with 1:30 left.

Broughton would be able to hang on after that with the final score 74-66 to secure their sixth victory of the season.

Page showed why he's a top name in the 2027 class with 31 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists (unofficially) to lead the way for Broughton. He scored in a variety of ways including an impressive two-hand jam off a steal on the opposite end. He remains a top name to know in the state given his skillset as a two-way wing/guard prospect.

Williams nearly led a comeback effort on the Willow Spring home floor with 31 points of his own along with eight rebounds and two assists. He knocked down two 3-pointers and showed he could get to the bucket at-will when given opportunities. He's an emerging unsigned senior to get to know with the Storm this season.

Taylor is another intriguing 2025 name to get to know with Broughton High. He had 18 points, four rebounds and two assists (unofficially) to propel the backcourt off the bench. He showed he could knock down shots, rebound the ball and defend alongside his counterparts on the hardwood. He's a rising name to get to know at the PG spot in the 919 area.

Terrell finished in double-figures scoring with 14 points and snagged seven rebounds but his shot wasn't falling from deep for Willow Spring. He went 2-for-6 from behind the arc and had some timely mishaps late. He'll need to sharpen things up and showcase his ability to get to the cup to see more success with the Storm.
