Briarcrest big [player_tooltip player_id='1760996' first='Fred' last='Smith'] power-bombed Hillsboro, a team with legitimate State Tournament ambitions. The reigning State Championship Game MVP, Fred touched the ball on almost every offensive possession. The team ran some high-post offense through the sophomore. The team lacks the depth of their 2023-2024 Championship Team. And yet Fred remains an utter handful. He makes consistent great choices. Despite his ability to dominate as a scorer, Fred makes some really unselfish decisions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131647' first='Carson' last='Chandler'] (Christian Brothers) continued his wonderfully productive season with 21 points as CBHS defeated reigning State Champions FACS handily. Teammate Gavin Jellow managed 17 points with six assists. Sam Aaron hit a three-pointer and finished with five total points.

Memphis University School freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2674669' first='Taheim' last='Elohem'] delivered perhaps the greatest pass of the young season Friday night against Lausanne. He fed [player_tooltip player_id='2674679' first='Andrew' last='Ogbeide'] 30' between two retreating defenders on the run. The pass was on time and on the hands enabling Ogbeide to attempt a realistic layup. So threatened were the Lausanne defenders that they fouled during the shot attempt. Despite his slight frame and unassuming demeanor, Taheim looks like a rising star already. [player_tooltip player_id='2674679' first='Andrew' last='Ogbeide'] (Memphis University School) played spirited defense for the host school. At 210-pounds, Ogbeide is rock solid and capable of defending four positions on the floor at the high school level.

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2675224' first='Landon' last='Banks'] (FACS) started against Christian Brothers. It must be said...FACS is a husk of that 2024 State Championship Team. The entire coaching staff as well as 95% of the roster is gone, off to other pastures. Into that vacuum steps younger and unproven players like Landon. Banks earned his way to the free throw line with a little sizzle. Impressive explosion both laterally and vertically. He will be an intriguing guard to watch in the coming years. Projects as a combo.
