New Names from Cardinal Ritter Jamboree

Prep Hoops Missouri witnessed its first action from the 2024-25 season when it made a visit to the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Jamboree. The four teams in the jamboree were John Burroughs, Normandy, Francis Howell North and host Cardinal Ritter. Here are some of the New Names of players who caught our eye on Thursday night.    A 6'1" 2025 point guard who was one of the most dynamic players that I watched at the jamboree. His handles were tight and he was attacking the basket with reckless abandon. He is physically strong, so he could take the contact or dish out a little of his own on his way to the basket. His court vision was also excellent as he dropped some very nifty dimes. As the games went on, he found his stroke from 3-point range. He was also a tenacious on-ball defender who could be disruptive.     A 6'3" 2026 wing player who was aggressively attacking the basket throughout the three games I've watched him. He did a good job of getting his body into shot blockers to draw fouls. He was also seeing the court well to find open teammates off his ability to drive and draw defenders. He is a resourceful scoring threat around the basket with his moves and footwork. He also read defenders well to move without the ball and free himself with solid cuts.     A 6'3" 2028 point guard who is going to be a valuable addition to an already strong Bombers squad that played for a Class 4 state championship last season. He has good size and a big body and he has a high basketball IQ to go along with it. He sees the court well and he is very unselfish. He plays the game at his own pace and he does a good job on not getting sped up. He just got cleared to play a few weeks ago after missing most of the summer with a leg injury.     A 6'1" 2025 southpaw shooting guard who has a real scorer's mentality. He was very good at attacking into the mid-range area where he was elevated well on his jumper. He was also very good in the open court where he excelled in the transition game. He was also able to make enough 3-pointers to keep defenders honest when they gave him a step.     A 5'11" 2027 point guard who has good quickness and showed a very nice feel for the game. His game might seem unassuming, but he has good fundamentals and was consistently making the right play. His passing skills were very good as threaded the needle on some no-look passes through traffic. He was moving without the ball into the right spots and he also played tenacious on-ball defense.     A 5'9" 2028 point guard who showed some toughness and play without any fear in his first taste of varsity action. He was playing with a soft cast on his arm and it didn't discourage him from going into a crowd for loose balls and rebounds. He was good quickness and he was able to touch the paint and finish in the lane. His on-ball defense was also tough as he was able to pick a few pockets in the open court, which led to transition layups.
