2024-25 Picks
1. Obama SCTE -- The Cougars boast the most experience of any team in the White Division and begin the campaign as a slight favorite to win the league crown. Coach Eric Mack has five starters back from a club that finished 8-11. That group includes seniors Isaiah McCoy (6-1), Rylen Tate (5-11) and Chanerion Mike (6-2) along with juniors Earrick Mike (5-8) and Demius Johnson (6-3). Others expected back include seniors Tmarius Lee (6-1) and Jaylyn Hurd (6-4), junior Damarius Lee (6-0) and sophomores Jaisean Mitchell-Banks (6-0) and Travis Maxie (5-5).
2. Lifelong Learning -- The Wizards won 18 games a year ago and return some offensive firepower as senior guard

(5-8, 16.6 ppg) and junior guard Darrien James Allen (5-10, 10.1 ppg) both return for coach Maurice Blackmon. Senior Jeremiah Turney (5-9, 9.6 ppg) also returns and joins Turay and James in a talented backcourt. Other key returning players for Lifelong Learning include senior forward Zaccheus Hall (6-4, 5.6 ppg), sophomore forward Xavier Hall (3.2 ppg) and senior guard Eddie Hall (2.8 ppg).
3. Bay View -- Bay View struggled to a 2-20 finish in 2023-24, but the Redcats have a new coach in Damon Landrum and new enthusiasm as four starters are back. That list of regulars from a year ago includes senior Edward Thomas (6-3), senior Stephon Hodges (5-11), junior Dayquell Dates (6-1) and sophomore Isaiah Wade (6-5). Other key returning players include senior Quantavious Stokes (6-4), senior Marcelo Wade (6-6), junior Dayshon Milons (5-9) and junior Darryl Cooks (6-0).
4. Washington -- Von McDade's initial season as head coach at Washington was a difficult one as the Purgolders went just 3-18 overall and 1-11 in the Blue Division of the City Conference. A move to the White Division this time around could be beneficial to McDade's program, especially considering the amount of returning experience in the program. Junior

(5-10) is one of the better backcourt players in the division while seniors Solomon Dotson (6-2), Bennie Rushing (5-11) and Jaylen Lewis (5-8) also return for the Purgolders.
5. Pulaski -- Coach Kimani Miller must replace his top two scorers from last year's 13-12 squad, but he does have some experience back in the form of senior guard Jomar Zendejas (6-0, 7.4 ppg) and sophomore guard DeShaun McCaleb (5-6, 2.5 ppg, 3. rpg). Quickness will be an asset for the Rams, while lack of size and rebounding are concerns.
6. Madison -- Few teams were hit as hard by graduation as Madison, which lost all five regulars from a team that went 6-13. The Knights find themselves in a complete rebuilding mode as double-figure scorers Quincy Owens (6-4), Jerome Walker (6-1), Josiah Robinson (6-0) and Camren Reed (6-0) all exhausted their eligibility. Returning players include junior Khamani Welton-Clacks (5-11), junior Brandon Williams and junior Marcus Carter.
7. School of the Arts -- Now in his fourth year as head coach at School of the Arts, Kyle Brokmeier has three regulars back from a club that finished 6-17. The list of returning starters for the Crimson Stars includes senior Msabah Mpondamli (5-7, 4.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg), junior Hollis Starling (5-11, 5.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg) and sophomore Thwee Ka Nyaw Gay (5-8, 5.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg). School of the Arts has some speed in its lineup, but lacks size and depth. The Crimson Stars will play home games for the first time in years this season. The gym from when the building was Milwaukee West Division had been turned into a dance studio. This summer, a new dance studio was built as an addition to the school and the gym was returned to its original size/use.
