He was the best player on the Beech Grove squad. Reagen is a high energy player who has the ability of creating for himself or teammates. He can score the basketball and make plays with slick passing skills. Reagen excelled at getting to the basket every chance he could. He's a shot maker! On numerous occasions he was able to get into the paint and score despite being fouled. A strong player who showed a lot of grit and determination, to be as effective on offense as he could. Reagan was really good at using floaters to score over taller defenders in the paint. He also showed the ability of knocking down mid-range shots and three pointers if given the opportunity. Reagen was in constant attack mode whenever he was on the floor. On defense, he plays with a high level of feistiness on defense. He was really good at pressuring opposing guards into mistakes. In my opinion, Reagen was clearly the team leader on the court, verbally and emotionally. He definitely seems like the type of kid who hates to lose. Stay on your grind Reagen!!

Dilraj (Raj) continues to impress me every time I watch him play! This is my second write up of this young man. He continues to show the ability of being an inside/outside guy. Raj has excellent post moves that made him unstoppable in the paint. He definitely used his size and strength as an advantage. Unfortunately, the Beech Grove squad had no answers. Raj can also knock down jump-shots outside of 15 feet. This made him more dangerous because it freed up space for teammates to be effective. Raj is a great ball handler for his size. He lead the fast break on a number of occasions, which lead to a lot of easy baskets. Raj is a good rebounder who scored a number of his shots on offensive put-backs. He operates flawlessly within the Clark Pleasant offense getting to his spots for open looks. Excellent with setting picks that allow teammates to be efficient on offense. Raj is a good interior post defender who had no issues boxing out and grabbing defensive rebounds. He didn't go for pump fakes against opposing post players. Raj plays basketball with a calm demeanor and maintains the same emotions win or lose. A great player who has the chance of becoming elite as he continues age. Raj finished with (12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks)

Rex is a good team player who did all the intangibles for his team. Whether it was scoring, passing, rebounding or playing defense.. this young guy made it happen. He was good at knocking down perimeter shots within the key or behind the arc. During Tuesday's game, he was able to get to the basket and finish layups. He often used his speed and quickness to get by defenders and make plays. Rex is an excellent passer who found teammates with accurate passes when he drove into the paint. Rebounding was another strength he displayed for all to see. Rex had no problem going into the paint to battle taller players for boards. As I said, he does whatever he needs to help his team win. During the game, Rex showed the ability of making free throws after he was fouled converting a layup. This lead to a three point play opportunity. Defensively, he excelled at applying ball pressure to opposing guards while forcing numerous turnovers. Keep balling Rex!!

After watching Lucas play again, I have to say" this kid is an elite shooter!" He continues to be a really good shooter from behind the arc. When I watched him play over the summer, I saw him knock down five threes in a game. Of course, Middle School basketball is totally different from AAU ball. Summer ball is more free-flowing while school ball is more structured. Lucas shoots the basketball with great ball rotation and form. I can definitely see the work ethic of this kid being the best shooter he can be. He's also a good ball handler and passer who has the capability of being the team's primary facilitator. If this guy needs to get to the basket and score, he has no issue doing so. I watched Lucas use great dribbling moves to get around his defender and attack the basket on multiple occasions. Great free throw shooter who was money at the line whenever he shot them. On defense, this guy was a pest against the Beech Grove back-court as they tried to advance the ball up-court. I guarantee Lucas will have success as his basketball journey continues. He shoots to good, to not be effective. He finished the game with (10 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, 3-7 3 pointers)

Liam is the "glue guy" of the Beech Grove squad. He does all the dirty work for his team by grabbing tough rebounds, playing good defense and diving for every loose ball on the floor. Liam excelled at rebounding on the offensive end of the court. He scored the majority of his points in the paint with rebounds and put-backs. Watching this young guy play was worthy of an write-up because of his effort, heart and determination to succeed. While his team was over-matched, Liam never gave up and continued to play hard. On defense, he played passing lanes and forced a number of on-ball turnovers with quick hands. I believe players like him should be rewarded with more recognition. The game of basketball is not just about scoring. Teams need to have those players who can focus on all the other intangibles besides scoring. I believe Beech Grove has this with Liam! Every coach would love to have a player of his caliber. Keep working Liam!!

Grady is a really good shooter! He shoots the basketball with great form and ball rotation. In Tuesdays game Grady was able to convert on multiple three pointers, some while being guarded closely. He is very knowledgeable of how to move around within the Clark Pleasant offense. He excelled at using teammate screens to free himself for open looks at the basket. A very confident player who shoots the ball with confidence and fluidity. Grady can handle the basketball and make plays for his teammates. On a number of occasions he was able to attack the defense and dish off nice passes in the paint or along the perimeter. Grady is a decent on the ball defender who stays in front of his opposition. He was able to forced a number of turnovers with traps on opposing guards. In the paint he held his ground against bigger opponents when the situation called for it. This young man is a really good player who will excel if he stays in the right team situation. Keep shooting Grady!!

These young men came to play!! They definitely showed why they were the top players for their squads.
