2026 Under the Radar Prospects of SWFL

With the high school basketball season kicking off this week, there are a number of players looking to rise their stock, and/or start making a name a for themselves throughout SWFL. There is a lot of talent in the area and a number of prospects are being recognized for their play, but let's take a closer look at 5 juniors who are looking to break out this season and become more well-known throughout the area, and the state.    Jones is an intriguing prospect, he's a kid who plays with a tremendous amount of hustle and energy. He handles the ball very well and has great speed, to go along with a quick first step which allows him to attack the basket. He's an excellent rebounder from the guard position, and is very efficient at pushing the ball and playing the transition game. He has a smooth stroke from the outside and can score on all 3-levels. Look for Jones to turn some heads this season and be a key piece for the Tarpons.     This prospect is looking to make a name for himself in 2024-25, and he has plenty of the tools to do so. Irwin is a strong bodied CG who can score inside and out. He has a wide frame and the strength to finish down low while absorbing contact, but can also shoot the 3-ball at a very high rate. He's a hardworking player who plays the game right. He has the ability to guard multiple positions and is a strong asset on the boards. Keep an eye on Irwin as he looks to have a breakout year for ECS this season.     The 6'1" SG for FBA is a smart player who seems to do all the little things. Loveall has a smooth stroke from the outside and is very efficient in the mid-range game, but can really hurt from behind the arc with his 3-point shooting ability. He has good court vision and is always looking to get his teammates involved. Loveall has a strong knowledge of the game and is willing to do whatever the team needs. Look for this sharpshooter to produce night in and night out, and help the Lions to another successful season in 2024-25.     Dantley is a great two-way player who plays the game with lots of energy and emotion. He is an excellent ball-handler with great court vision, and is able to score in bunches when he gets hot. He has good speed with quick bursts, which allow him to attack the paint and get to the basket. He also has the ability to knock down the 3-point shoot consistently, and is a tremendous free-throw shooter. Dantley is huge asset of the bench for the Griffins and will be looked upon to contribute both offensively and defensively for a team seeking their third-straight District title.     Felix is a super athletic CG who does a little bit of everything for the Seahawks. He has great speed and is quick of floor, which make him an excellent rebounder from the guard position. He has the ability to attack the basket and finish around the rim, but has also proven to be a very good 3-point shooter. He has solid handles, and plays the game fast yet under control. Defensively his athleticism allows him to guard multiple positions and he won't back down from any assignment. Look for Felix to have a big junior year and be one of the leaders for this Cape Coral squad.
