Peyton is looking to end his senior season with a bang. He carries a lot of responsibilities into the season, and he will be looked upon to play on and off the ball and to facilitate and score. He has fallen in the rankings during the last two releases, but that does not take away from his ability to not just impact a game but also take it over and carry his team to victory on any given night.

Fred has emerged as one of the perennial lead guards in the state. His poise under pressure has become one thing people can count on the most when he is on the floor. With Caleb Holt transferring, Fred-Fred will be looked upon to carry the load for the defending state champions. He is a trustworthy lead guard and will be more than capable of being a primary option as Buckhorn begins life after Caleb Holt. He can score from all levels, run the offense, and be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor.

Nasir is a talented combo guard who can get a bucket at will. He plays powerfully in traffic and loves getting to the rim. He has shown the ability to score from all three levels. He does a good job with being able to move to the lead guard spot and be a distributor, but at the core of his game, he is a scorer first. He is special in the open court as he is a good finisher at the rim and a guard who can make plays that are sometimes jaw-dropping.

There is a lot of excitement from coaches at the next level regarding Ty, and many are waiting to see how at least the first half of the season goes for him. He is playing under a new head coach and is one of the few veterans on the team who will be looked upon to lead the squad this year. He has proven through the years that he can score the rock, but this will be a year where the load will be heavier than usual, and what he will be asked to bring to the court will be the same. Look for Ty to constantly fill the stat sheet night in and night out.

Jayden has gotten off to a solid start on his last go-around. With the transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1958553' first='Jay' last='Green'] coming in and taking over the lead guard responsibilities it has helped Jayden be able to focus on being the guy when it comes to being able to go and score at will. In the first two games thus far, he has looked more relaxed as he has the freedom to pursue his scoring opportunities. His tool kit is full of weapons, and he has shown early that he is going to put the entire repertoire on display as he seeks to lead the Rams to the blue map.

One of the takeaways from Clay's victory over Ramsay in the season opener is that Clay desperately needs a lead guard. Which leads us to the question of where is Aces, who coach informed me that he will be back after the start of the new year. He is recovering from a knee injury, and his presence is clearly missed. The unforced turnovers that Clay struggled with will be, for the most part, cleaned up when he returns to the line-up. He is a solid, reliable lead guard who can be trusted with the rock and the ability to run the show. When he returns, his presence will be a welcome solution to the PG spot.
