Syracuse 0-10 (7-17).

2024-25 Picks

1. Layton— Layton has quietly build one of the most respected programs in the state. They do it with their own guys and they play at a high level. They are a true contender this year once again and they have one of the deepest benches in the state. The Lancers have an abundance of talent and the one kid that has been standing out has been [player_tooltip player_id='1568152' first='Sam' last='Romer']. Romer is a senior guard that put up 12 PPG and 5 RPG. When his motor is on he is a tough player to stop. Then you mix in some of the young payers like [player_tooltip player_id='1724368' first='Karter' last='Miller'] who will be the lead guard and he can go get you a bucket or help other get open looks. Miller is a talented young player in the Class of 2027. The player that could be a game changer will [player_tooltip player_id='2244581' first='Josh' last='Checketts'], he has size and above the rim ability and he has rim protecting ability as well. Checketts has looked great in the Utah top 50 as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1942223' first='Jonah' last='Fullmer'] when healthy could be a major player in their title run.

2. Davis — The Darts will have some youngsters knocking on the door with some talented incoming freshman, they might not get run this season but there is talent that is continually streaming through Davis. [player_tooltip player_id='1272410' first='Coleman' last='Atwater'] enters his senior year and it sure seems like he has been at Davis a lot longer than 4 years. Atwater is the leading scorer coming back (14.9 PPG). He willneed to maintain that or score more but also distribute the ball and rebound. [player_tooltip player_id='2347358' first='Tradon' last='Bessinger'] is a player that could really make a big impact with his level of play as a bigger guard that can score. You will also see a lot more out of [player_tooltip player_id='1611276' first='Bode' last='Sparrow'] as well. Davis will be dangerous as usual with the talented guards that they have in the program.

3.Farmington — Farmington will be a much improved this coming season. [player_tooltip player_id='2218132' first='Malakai' last='Tobler'] is a young player that will be able to score a lot more this coming season. Kai Bneyon is another name that will emerge as well. This team will have so many role guys that could erupt at any time. Cole Teweden will have a bigger role coming up this year as well.

4. Weber — Weber will be a very different looking team this season as they have lost a few staple. players. That leaves some openings for players to step up and step in. [player_tooltip player_id='2313760' first='Will' last='Stratford'] (7 PPG, 7RPG) is one of those players. [player_tooltip player_id='1598266' first='Jordan' last='Oberholtzer'] is a fun player to watch that can rattle of buckets quickly. He has wiggle and he finds ways to get open looks. Oberholtzer put up (8 PPG, 3APG) he will be a tough cover. Brandon Crockett will be a much improved player as will [player_tooltip player_id='1598260' first='Ryder' last='Howe']. Look for a player like [player_tooltip player_id='2530305' first='Tyler' last='Payne'] to have a breakout season as well.

4. Fremont — Fremont has looked good at times this offseason, which means they could surprise some people. [player_tooltip player_id='1363979' first='Easton' last='Duft'] will lead the way as he is one of their strongest returning players at the PG position. [player_tooltip player_id='1272411' first='Ryan' last='Ferguson'] will also join him as a strong returning bigger guard as well. [player_tooltip player_id='2530290' first='Zach' last='Masters'] could be an important piece for this team as he provides more height at the guard position. Don't overlook Fremont.

6. Syracuse — Syracuse is coming off of a rough season. The upside is that they had some younger players get some experience that will help them compete. [player_tooltip player_id='2530304' first='Brad' last='Trejo'] was a solid guard that scored 5 PPG last season. [player_tooltip player_id='1958347' first='Skylar' last='Orton'] is a Class of 2026 player that will continue to improve and will be a contributor, he had a few games last season where he played very well. [player_tooltip player_id='2610480' first='Beckham' last='Reese'] is another youngster that should not only get more playing time but he will be a much needed scorer as well. [player_tooltip player_id='2530301' first='Hudson' last='Hess'] is a good shooter that was able to get some good open looks last season. Look for him to be more impactful from beyond the arc.

BIG Season Loading

[player_tooltip player_id='1568152' first='Sam' last='Romer']

[player_tooltip player_id='1272410' first='Coleman' last='Atwater']

[player_tooltip player_id='2218132' first='Malakai' last='Tobler']

[player_tooltip player_id='1724368' first='Karter' last='Miller']

[player_tooltip player_id='1598266' first='Jordan' last='Oberholtzer']

[player_tooltip player_id='1363979' first='Easton' last='Duft']

[player_tooltip player_id='1958347' first='Skylar' last='Orton']

[player_tooltip player_id='2244581' first='Josh' last='Checketts']
