GASO is never an event that you want to miss, and they were putting on a show in Houston during the weekend of October 12th-13th at the MI3 Center. I want to give a big shout out really quick to the crew and all the hard work they put in to give all the players of Greater Houston exposure so a big thank you to Ryan, Lyndon, Blue, and Michael. There were numerous teams and prospects that left an impression on me Sunday the 13th but let's examine a few who definitely rose their stock at the event, despite the game result.

[player_tooltip player_id='1592890' first='Austin' last='Brown'] was a huge impact player for Lufkin as always in Sunday close games over Cypress Ranch 61-48 and a loss to Atascocita 54-64. Brown has been making major waves ever since the summer and last year and continued to show his versatility as a scorer at GASO Houston. He efficiently scores from all three levels and can keep his teammates involved with next level playmaking from the combo guard slot. He is able to handle the rock cool and collected even under full court pressure and knows how to get himself open on offense, whether it's running around off ball screens or shooting off the dribble over defenders. His athleticism is also underrated as he got some key blocks at the rim and some clutch rebounds to help his team gain momentum. Austin currently has offers from Rice, Oklahoma State, Wichita State, Iowa, Texas A&M, SMU, Sam Houston State, TCU, Texas Tech and SFA. Look for him to be trending heavily on radars this year not only in Houston, but all of Texas and possibly nationally.

Charlie was key in the Village's win over Klein Forest on Sunday afternoon, doing a little bit of everything on both ends. Church was active on the boards even from the guard slot, tipping everything back out for second chance points or drawing fouls under the rim. He can stretch the floor with his deadly three point shot and can also create for himself and his team with some good IQ ballhandling. Charlie's hustle was also very well noted, as he secured several loose balls and was essential in helping maintain the lead all game. He has definitely made his mark as one of the more underrated shooters in Houston and will look to make a big splash this year playing for the Village School.

Chase was probably the most dynamic scorer I saw in all of Sunday's games that I watched as he took on Summer Creek in the first game of the day for the tournament. Richardson displays excellent IQ as the floor general for Friendswood and paced the offense with great transition plays, whether scoring or assisting. He is a blur dribbling downhill with the ball in his hands and makes things happen on the offensive end. He is a master at keeping teammates involved with needle threading passes and always knowing where his squad is on the court at all times. Chase currently has an offer from Sam Houston State University.

Reggie was a big-time threat to score the basketball in the Bulldogs early morning crunch time win over Friendswood. Rideau showed calm and poise in the face of adversity throughout the game and had several tough shots go his way on offense, using some acrobatic and quick moves to beat the defense left and right. Reggie is great in transition as he uses his speed to make the right play and get to his spots fast for open opportunities and skip passes to an open cutter/corner shooter. He has a smooth, consistent jumpshot and can continually hit from deep if left open enough times by matchups. Look for him to take a big step this year as one of the leaders for Summer Creek in what many call the toughest district in Houston for varsity basketball.
