Elite 8 Fall Preview 2027 Standouts

PH NorCal was in Sacramento, Ca October 6th for the Elite 8 Fall Preview at Monterey Trail HS. Here's our take on some of the 2027 players at this event.    He's a rising prospect in the 2027 NorCal Class. A long wiry guard with a versatile skill set. He can play multiple positions. He's a ball handler, with good passing, often makes the right play. He can score in different ways, drop 3's, pull-ups, floaters, and has the toughness to finish around the rim. He'll get rebounds, defend bigger players, and defend on the perimeter with length and foot speed.     He's one of our better point guards in this class. A good ball handling guard with vision and patience up top, he makes good decisions with the ball, always looking to involve others. He was actively using his individual skills to get buckets. Strong drives into the paint, a consistent mid-range jumper he relies on. He has good moves in the open court.     He had 17pts in one game. He's growing, has decent foot speed, handles, and passes, he's a ball mover. He made good runs to finish in transition. He moves well off ball finding open spots to put up jumpers, he has 3pt range. He'll use his dribble to get closer for high off the the glass layups and floaters.     He's a long and growing prospect. He's doing things that indicate he's ready to be a reliable contributor. He's alert on the defensive side with good weak side help, he looks for bodies on the box out. He'll help with the rebounding. He's a wide court runner looking for open spots to drop transition 3's. He moves to open space around the perimeter to shoot 3's. We'll see more     It was our first look at the lefty point guard. He's not limited to just running the offense. His sharp handles, speed, and change of direction can generate offense, whether it's breaking down defenders, getting into the paint for assist or points, he has paint jumpers and floaters, he's hard to stay in front of. He can be disruptive on the defensive side of the ball with quick hands and feet to distract ball handlers.
