We've seen a handful of guard prospects pull the trigger early on their college commitments. With their eyes on the early signing period, these prospects have gotten this important decision out of the way which will allow them to focus on basketball and school during their senior year. Below we give some quick breakdowns of what each college program is getting in the guard they have committed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630620' first='Elzie' last='Harrington'] | St. John Bosco | 2025 | Committed: Harvard

Harrington is one of the highest IQ playmakers we have in Southern California. The 6-foot-5 point guard plays at his own pace, takes care of the basketball, rarely gets sped up and has proven to be a winner in big game situations. Harrington will provide Harvard with positional size and strong, athletic finishing ability around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630623' first='Gavin' last='Hightower'] | Sierra Canyon | 2025 | Committed: Iona

Hightower is an electric transition scorer and playmaker whose combination of speed, strength and confidence allow him to always be in attack mode. What has stood out most about the 6-foot guard over the course of his high school career is the great effort and energy he plays with on both sides of the ball. Hightower will provide offensive and defensive toughness and a pop of scoring when needed at Iona.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630629' first='Isaac' last='Williamson'] | Roosevelt | 2025 | Committed: New Mexico

Williamson has established himself as one of the best "three and D" prospects out west and his approach to the game fits in well with the guards that Richard Pitino has brought into Albuquerque during his tenure there. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is an elite three-point shooter with deep range consistency but it is his willingness to shut down the opposing team's best perimeter scorer - regardless of size or position - that makes Williamson a good fit in the Mountain West.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896210' first='Isaiah' last='Johnson'] | Campbell Hall | 2025 | Committed: Colorado

As we mentioned in a previous story about 2025 stock-raisers, Johnson has gotten continually better over the last three seasons and Colorado took note of that before landing another potential steal out of Southern California. The 6-foot-1 lefty is a savvy shot creator for himself and teammates and has the ability to fill up the scoring column in a hurry from a variety of areas of the floor. Johnson has off-bounce and off-catch three-point shooting ability and, despite his smaller frame, he is a high level finisher around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630639' first='Jake' last='Hall'] | Carlsbad | 2025 | Committed: UC San Diego

Hall is one of the premier perimeter scorers in the region and made the decision to stay home to attend UC San Diego which could be a perfect fit. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard understands how to get to his spots for pull-up jumpers or create space on the perimeter to get an open look from three-point range. What has made Hall such a tough cover at the high school level is his ability to score in the mid-post against smaller guards with turn-around jumpers and step-through finishes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630619' first='Jovani' last='Ruff'] | Long Beach Poly | 2025 | Committed: California

Cal is bringing in a floor-stretching presence who has the ability to get hot in a hurry. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is best when using his shot fake and getting to a one or two dribble mid-range jumper. Ruff's combination of size and ability to elevate above defenders on his jumper make him a prospect who can get to his spots with ease for a clean look at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630683' first='Julien' last='Gomez'] | La Mirada | 2025 | Committed: UTRGV

Gomez is a crafty combo guard whose ability to create shots for himself and his teammates earned him Division I looks, and, eventually, a commitment to UTRGV. The 6-foot-3 lefty has the scoring chops, basketball IQ and passing ability to play both on or off the ball and his ability to make jump shots efficiently stretches out opposing defenses and forces them to cover the three-point line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630635' first='Mazi' last='Mosely'] | Montverde Academy | 2025 | Committed: LSU

Mosley spent his formative years here in Southern California prior to making the transfer move to Montverde Academy in Florida. The former Heritage Christian and St. Francis guard is a shifty and hyper athletic playmaker in half-court and open court settings and his ability to finish around the basket in a variety of ways makes him a tough cover at the high school level.
