Marcus Sloan is always hosting big time tournaments with high level prospects in the city of Houston and this weekend was no different. The OTR Fall Shootout took place at Yates High School and Prep Hoops TX was in attendance both days of the event during Saturday and Sunday. Let's key in on some Sunday standouts who helped their team to key wins throughout the duration of the contests.

[player_tooltip player_id='1371864' first='Christian' last='Thomas'] was big time in both CE King games on Sunday during wins over Grand Oaks and Pearland. Thomas shows dynamic ability to score and can beat the defense from wherever. He displayed patience to knock down wide open jumpers as well as penetrating to the basket and finishing through strong opposition on multiple possessions. His energy was contagious for the rest of the Panthers as the team caught fire and flew to victories in both contests, maintaining a lead through all eight quarters of the two games. I can't say enough about Christian's potential as he uses his size well to score over defenders and his infectious energy on defense and on hustle plays helps his teammates raise their play to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2221914' first='David' last='Chong'] was a key playmaker for the Dickinson Gators in their two wins on Sunday's slate over Humble and Empowering Others. His efficiency running the offense was what stood out to me among his other traits and he was always able to keep his teammates involved. Chong had several tough and-ones and even slammed down some key dunks that helped to swing the momentum fully towards Dickinson in the afternoon. He shows off a high IQ with the ball in his hands as he brings up the court and had several thread-the-needle passes to wide open players for an easy basket. If he continues at this level, his facilitating dynamics can really set him apart in the 2025 Houston guard class.

Kenan played the position of wing in the PSAT overtime win against Humble, but he moves with the fluidity of a guard. Dikamba had several mid range jumpers and fadeaways that the defense gave him too much space on and he made them pay on numerous offensive visits. I really admired his defense as well and how he knows when to play help in the post as well as having quick enough speed to close back out on his man on the perimeter and get either a steal or force a bad shot. Transition game was also top notch as well and he does not waste possessions with the basketball. The way he played this weekend, Kenan will be on some radars of schools very soon!

Kaden was a premier scorer in the Yates win over GVA varsity throughout the final game of the Fall Shootout. KD, as they call him, could not be stopped on offense as he was shooting the lights out this game hitting about 3 or 4 threes and converting several and-ones from the midrange. He has quick enough speed and shiftiness with the ball in his hands to get to the basket uncontested and finish easy layups as well. Kaden has sky high potential and will pair with [player_tooltip player_id='2557772' first='Calvin' last='Murphy'] III to create a strong backcourt for Jack Yates this year.

Chauncey was an effective floor setter for PSAT in their overtime win against Humble on early Sunday and the game against Stratford as well. Shaw uses his ballhandling and decision making skills to make the defense pay for leaving teammates open and can get a quick bucket himself when his squad needs it. Chauncey will continue to turn heads with his impressive IQ from the playmaking guard slot and will soon be on radars of not only those in Houston, but those around as well.
