With the Waynesburg coaching staff in attendance Sunday to watch the BlueChips Nation squad tangle with Life Hoops and Linsly School, the BlueChips squad ran their way to a 2-0 outing. Following up a 0-2 debut last weekend, losing both game by a bucket, the BlueChips guys had their lightbulbs pop on and got comfortable with the game plan set by coach Nuzum on both ends.

Coach Nuzum cited a very explosive performance by [player_tooltip player_id='1309597' first='Xavier' last='Kirk'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1412065' first='Trevan' last='Bonner'] that led the way on both ends. Kirk who's recruiting is starting to snowball while Bonner still looking for that first offer but it might come via this fall league. Bonner is a known sniper from the point guard and combo guard positions and Kirk shot lights out on the HGSL circuit this spring and summer. Couple that with their clamp down style of defense that Nuzum demands and you have a helluva two-way guard duo.

Newcomers to the BlueChips roster for the week included another sniper, [player_tooltip player_id='1578756' first='Max' last='Moore'] as well as budding swingman [player_tooltip player_id='2367481' first='Luke' last='Michael'], both of Sissonville High School. Moore has just picked up his first offer from PSU-Fayette while Michael has recovered from injury and coming out of his first action back during AAU season. Moore will be a formidable D3 level combo-type guard that shoots it very efficiently from anywhere. Meanwhile, Michael has filled out and muscled up a bit to 200 lbs on his 6'5" frame. Add in a nice dose of athletic ability and explosiveness, Michael has yet to come close to his ceiling and definitely has his best basketball ahead of him. Staying injury free, Luke should have an incredible senior season and gain recruiting momentum.

While 6'7" big man [player_tooltip player_id='2241522' first='Drew' last='Fitzwater'] was out for this week while attending elite camp at Davis & Elkins, Waynesburg and Bethany offered post player [player_tooltip player_id='1463045' first='Preston' last='Luzader'] filled the spot and of course filled it well. Luzader is no stranger to the BlueChips brand as he played on last year's team as well as attended the BlueChips Hoop Summit in August where he received his Waynesburg offer from coach Tom Weiland.

The two sure and steady 2026's for the BlueChips squad are [player_tooltip player_id='2437056' first='Tyce' last='Day'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2303399' first='Anden' last='Santamaria']. Both have tremendous upside and very high ceilings. Day has already caught the eye of a few college coaches and Santamaria has a lot of college coaches trying to figure out what he will be and at what level when he's ready to enter college. Day is a great shooter from deep and passes the ball like a guard with great anticipation with his greatest improvement coming on defense with utilizing his instruction from coach Nuzum. Santamaria is such an interesting player to say the least. Very comfortable handling the ball, shooting from anywhere and receiving the ball in the post is more than admirable and very uncommon. Santamaria's skill set and floor IQ is only hampered by his physical strength that is a bit behind but he finds ways to affect the game in many ways.
