After a full spring and summer of club basketball and some high-level individual and team fall events, we updated our Southern California rankings for the class of 2025. We added 25 players to the rankings and a handful of prospects made big leaps up the rankings' ladder. Below we break down the top stock-rising guards in our latest update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630643' first='Angelino' last='Mark'] | Sherman Oaks Notre Dame | Previous: 12, New: 5

Few prospects can match the combination of speed, strength and explosive athleticism that Mark brings to the floor and those traits, combined with his hard-nosed approach on both ends of the floor, make him a projectable combo guard to the next level. The 6-foot-2 senior is best as a dynamic tempo pusher in transition who gets to the rim as he pleases and finishes through or above contact. The reason for Mark's bump into the top five was his improvements as a decision-maker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896210' first='Isaiah' last='Johnson'] | Campbell Hall | Previous: 26, New: 10

Johnson has been a steady riser in each of our 2025 updates and his production with his high school and his club team - BTI United - has earned him a bump into our top 10. The high IQ and savvy point guard has an impressive ability to manage a game by creating for others and steadying the ship when needed but he can also take over the game with dynamic scoring when he needs to. The 6-foot lefty can drive and finish using touch off the glass or touch with his floater and has a knack for making pull-up jumpers from mid-range and three-point areas.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404084' first='Da'Vian' last='Brooks'] | Knight | Previous: 33, New 18

Brooks remains one of the biggest sleepers on the west coast and, as I have said before, should be drawing interest from programs in the Big West, Big Sky and WAC during his senior year. The 6-foot-3 point guard has cat-quick instincts on both ends of the floor, great acceleration and control in the open court and the ability to manage scoring and distributing based on what his team needs. Brooks can turn on his scoring punch when needed but has a ton of true point guard feel to his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630660' first='Myles' last='Walker'] | Roosevelt | Previous: 36, New: 27

If there's one thing that every coach wants, it's a player who makes winning plays on both ends of the floor and that is exactly what Walker does. The 5-foot-9 point guard is one of the best on-ball defenders in the state and his ability to speed up opposing ball handlers takes opposing teams out of their comfort zones offensively. Walker is also a savvy playmaker in open court and transition offense where he uses his speed, vision and basketball IQ to create open looks for his teammates first and then himself if needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630659' first='Isaiah' last='Carroll'] | Harvard-Westlake | Previous 50, New: 38

Carroll has been seeing some low major Division I interest and he could see that go even higher if he has a big season for Harvard-Westlake. The 6-foot-7 senior is a floor stretching wing with his ability to hit off-catch three's and has potential to be a high level on-ball and team defensive player at the next level with his combination of size, length and athleticism. Carroll will have a bigger role for his high school team this season and it will be interesting to see what he does with it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2373658' first='Louis' last='Bond'] | Windward | Previous: 73, New: 43

Bond found a great club team fit with Gamepoint's 3SSB squad and his game - and ranking - elevated because of it. The 6-foot-4 guard/wing is as versatile as they come at the high school level and his game is predicated on him impacting multiple areas of the stat sheet. Bond's high IQ allows him to act as a de facto point guard when needed but he can also slide off the ball in a slashing and finishing role. Where the senior stands out the most is his ability to guard multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404086' first='Donald' last='Thompson'] | Washington Prep | Previous: 76, New: 46

Thompson had a big spring and summer and upped his recruiting and ranking stock because of his confident scoring ability. The 6-foot combo guard is a shifty creator off the bounce who can knock down mid and long-range jumpers whether open or tightly contested. Thompson's aggressive-attacking mindset allows him to get to the rim in transition where he can score craftily around rim protectors.
