A roster with experienced guys will go a long way to a possible deep postseason run.

Here are 5 seniors with a great opportunity:

[player_tooltip player_id='1572498' first='Quaylan' last='Hampton'], Fayette Ware: The 5-foot-10 point guard got his first taste of true varsity minutes last season. He was in a reserve role, playing behind Jeremiah Hayes and Eric Jones. Now, it will be senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1321569' first='Tacarien' last='Freeman'], sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2283267' first='Elijah' last='Lowe'], and Hampton as the main guards for the Wildcats. Hampton's coming off a junior season averaging 6.0 points, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 rebounds per game. If Fayette Ware wants to make a second straight trip to the TSSAA Division 1 Class 3A Boys' State Tournament, Hampton will need to play well each night he steps onto the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1400891' first='Kristopher' last='Carroll'], Southwind: Carroll is already a state champion. He helped First Assembly Christian School win last season's TSSAA Division II Class A crown. Now, he's out to help the Jaguars do the same in Class 4A. Carroll is just waiting to see if he's going to be eligible. If he's cleared, Carroll brings ammo from the perimeter as the 6-5 wing can make shots. With he and junior guard Ronald Towns Jr. on both wings, Southwind will have two prospects capable of scoring 15-20 points each on a nightly basis.

Damion Cox Jr., Memphis Central: Cox was TSSAA Division 1 Class 4A District 16 Player of the Year last season. Can he repeat it? It's a question Cox can only answer. Now, Whitehaven is going to be the favorite to win the district. Cox will have opportunities to try to lead the Warriors to a district title. His production will need to be sufficient to give Memphis Central a chance.

[player_tooltip player_id='2115401' first='Eli' last='Patrick'], Munford: It's all on Patrick and [player_tooltip player_id='1971524' first='JaDyn' last='Lee'] in 2024. Lee will most likely lead the team in scoring, but Patrick will need to come in second after the loss of Murray Norman, Jay Dancey, and Jordan Bell. The lefty can make shots from the perimeter. There's no chance this program gets to Murfreesboro without solid production from Patrick (8.4 points per game in 2023) and Lee (20.0 points per game).

[player_tooltip player_id='1547250' first='Landon' last='Royston'], ECS: Tyler Jones is gone. FACS dismantled after its former head coach Dee Wilkes bolted for the same position at St. George's. The race to the top will be wide open in Division II-A West District 6. Can Royston, a 6-4 guard, lead the Eagles to the top of the standings? I don't have a concrete answer right now, but it's not impossible. Royston showed flashes last season of being a reliable playmaker and scoring weapon. Royston should be one of the best guards in the league in 2024.
