PHN Middle School Camp: 5v5 Standouts '30

Are you searching for the top talent in the Midwest? Look no further. The Prep Hoops Next Middle School Camp was stacked with talent. The top 6th-8th graders put on a show in Mequon, WI. There were some familiar faces but also some new names that NEED to be on the radar as they continue to develop into promising athletes.    Below are some of the athletes that stood out throughout the camp.    Villanueva is a lightning quick guard out of Bullen. He caps off his summer ball with Kenosha K9 prior to attending camp. Villanueva covered a lot of ground on both ends of the floor. He utilized ball screens at a high level and proved to be very decisive with the ball in his hands. His ability to make reads and see the entire floor was very impressive.         Cook is an athletic wing out of the Milwaukee area. He came to camp after wrapping up his season with [program_tooltip program_id='2076218' first='Wisconsin' last='Playground Club']. Cook's athletic prowess was on display all afternoon. He turned defensive boards into fast breaks and offensive boards into second chance points. His improved handle was on display as well in the half court. Cook was able to shift defenders and finish over the top of them at Camp.        Leach is a sturdy combo guard out of Hales Corner Lutheran. He ran with a stacked [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] over the summer. Leach had a balanced approach to camp over the weekend, proving to provide whatever was needed for his team. He exploited mismatches at a high level and found open teammates early and often. His shot selection and ability to distribute was on full display.     Lee is a 5'3 combo guard from Milwaukee College Prep. He caps his summer ball session with [program_tooltip program_id='2076218' first='Wisconsin' last='Playground Club'] prior to coming to camp. Lee proved to be patient and methodical on the offensive end of the floor. He utilized his tight handle and court vision to evade pressure very well. Lee found cutting teammates on time and on target all afternoon.      Young is a 5'1 lead guard who played much bigger than his stature. He had a fearless approach to camp. Young has a solid bag of moves that had defenders at odds all afternoon. He got to his spots with ease with his shifty movements. He was aggressive all camp regardless of his match up.     Allen is a lengthy wing out of Oak Creek. He plays for a tough [program_tooltip program_id='2076218' first='Wisconsin' last='Playground Club'] program in the summer months. He has taken a big leap in the height category, now standing at 5'9. Allen was a prospect who shined brightly on the open floor. He was a threat to go coast to coast after snatching defensive rebounds. His ability to break down his match up in the half court was also quite impressive.     Shaffer is a combo guard out of Shining Star Christian. He led with his energy the entire afternoon. He snatched rebounds near much bigger players. He pushed the pace in transition. Most impressive was his foot speed to beat his opposition down the floor.
