2024 @PrepHoopsTN Combine Evaluations: Part VII

A June Sunday always ushers in the @PrepHoopsTN Combine. Ordinarily the final Sunday suffices, but this year we tipped June 16th with an insanely talented coaching staff. The gym hosted high energy. Read about several of the campers with their evaluations from the day. All measurements/times are listed in the linked article.

How did he measure against the competition?

Kingston moved around the court fine, but he was at-times too passive. With his agility, when playing away from the basketball, he needs to make sharper cuts. Brown can improve his outside shooting and scoring off of the dribble. Brown is able to effectively defend two positions at the high school level. His handle was a little above average. Kingston's passing touch with the left hand was impressive.

Broad shoulders, but thin. Ideal basket frame. Excellent height for the position. I'd like to see him improve his speed. The 3.65 time could be better. Reinbold, a very good shooter, could be a wing attacker out on the break with better burst coming out in transition. Coachable.

Abe showed for the ball one or two times as a post-up player during the 5-on-5 portion. As per usual, the guards did not feed him the ball there but showcasing that element might help his game tremendously.

Shifty. Undersized lead guard. Crafty. Really bright young man. He pays attention to the details. Has trouble creating space against taller guards. Quick decision-maker. He struggles to finish over the trees in the lane. Moves well off of the ball. Isaac missed an 8' floater after kind of throwing a show-and-go screen for Landon Warren Landon Warren 6'5" | SF/PF Perry County | 2027 State TN on the wing and then getting the ball back. The floater looked believable. The technique suggested a comfort level with the difficult shot.

Great balance. Strong legs. Undersized guard. Quick as lightning. Excellent sprint times (3.46, 3.49). Clardy was in the top third with his straight-line speed. Clardy likes to pass and does it well.

Ok sprint speed. Quickness lags behind his peers somewhat (12.51, 12.61), as evidenced by the Lane Agility. Dawson needs to work on making his move and then bursting. In the attacking drill, which hyperfocused on ball-handling Woodfine made a noncommittal move and then followed it up with another noncommittal move. Once he makes a sharp move, then he needs to burst like a sprinter to the lane. Best skill is outside shooting.
