One of the lost arts of basketball is certainly post play. Along with scouting post play comes watching in person and seeing feet placement, body placement and physicality. My favorite scouting is undoubtedly watching bigs and post players and seeing if they can be developed into a next level prospect. Big Shots Myrtle Beach Live I & II is always a great proving ground for any high school player and college prospect with the physical play and up tempo pace. We think we found some post playing gems and have them listed below.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241522' first='Drew' last='Fitzwater'] helped his recruiting resume while busting loose for a 17ppg average in Live session I. The recent Greater Beckley Christian transfer is a late blooming stretch four type player who like to shoot it deep and does it effectively. Fitzwater is a solid rebounder and passer who has a great feel for the game. Drew has had a rapid development since spring getting serious minutes on the floor for the WV Reign. Fitzwater has just recently begin to receive some college interest with coaches contacting and he's currently on many watchlists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2376948' first='Benji' last='Adkins'] made a great impression on not just me but others around me as well. He's a breath of fresh air in this recruiting environment, being an absolute star in his role. That being said, Adkins will not wow you with flashy play or dazzling dunks, however he will never miss a box out, set solid screens, get tough rebounds, make the right pass to open shooters, play physical and tough defense in the post and always finish put back plays with lay ups and many with and-ones. One of the players I definitely enjoyed watching most.

[player_tooltip player_id='2496407' first='Collin' last='Crouch'] is a new name and new prospect for our 2027 list. But Crouch showed some serious ability in the paint with fantastic post play displaying a natural baby hook finish as well as muscling up on defense and disrupting flow of the opponent. Crouch will join an already talented front line at Nitro but could provide immediate depth and definitely looks the part.

[player_tooltip player_id='2366403' first='Shalik' last='Hampton'] is certainly well known on the gridiron as a D1 football prospect, but he could literally walk into a D2 gym and dominate in the post most anywhere. He's an absolute specimen of a prospect physically and knows exactly how to use it. Posting double-doubles during 32 minute running clock games isn't easy and in fact rare, but Hampton did it the majority of times he hit the floor. We don't expect Hampton to pursue basketball and will be rooting him on while his football career begins at the next level.
