The Hard Work Region Finals are in the rearview mirror and teams are getting geared up for the Live Period this weekend.

Before PHD closes the book on the Finals, we wanted to do one last article on players who looked good and left us intrigued to see more. We have 8 players in this article and will tell you why we want to see them play again.

Best of Luck to all the ballers playing at The Last Dance in Chicagoland this weekend!

Talent To Watch

[player_tooltip player_id='1219802' first='Andre'' last='Austin'] (2025) |6'3 G| Pack/[program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

He recently picked up an offer from the Marauders at UMary. Dre's stock is rising! He was surrounded by exceptional talent at the Finals and performed well. I like that Austin is willing to be a facilitator but also knows when to take over and run the show. Andre' is long, athletic, tough, and full of versatility. I like his potential on defense along with is size & mobility. I know his game will keep evolving as Austin is a dedicated worker. He will be playing 3 more Prep Hoops Tournaments in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Denver.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632632' first='Artie' last='Carlow'] (2026) |6'0 G| Sizzle/[program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

He was a pickup player for Phenom this past weekend and Artie hit a three-pointer soon after entering the game. The opposing coach/team labeled him as a shooter and gave him loads of attention. Carlow hoops at Bismarck and I know the coaching staff has high expectations for him. Artie is sharply skilled, has a natural feel, and his game will skyrocket as he adds muscle & strength. It will be fun to see his progression in the coming months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1497479' first='Brennan' last='Johnson'] (2025) |6'7 F| [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

I see him as one of the best BIGs in Class B this coming season. I always think of Johnson as a rough-n-tumble interior player who does the dirty work and racks up a Double-Double. This past weekend, I saw that BJ is much more than that. He hit numerous three-pointers against tough competition at crucial points of the game. Brennan also showed off a sweet floater which proved that he is much more than a low post player. BJ will be at The Last Dance in Chicago and the National Open the next 2 weekends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1194507' first='Drew' last='Kempel'] (2025) |6'4 PG| [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

He is a leader and a mature ball player. On Friday night, I watched Drew show up to cheer on the NDP 2nd team. Drew was not there for an ego boost he was there to support/cheerlead, he coached, gave positive feedback, and was a source of energy. It is always fun to see a player give energy/heart to others and not worry about themselves. Kempel is a PG through & through, he could care less about scoring but will produce when needed. He exploits matchups in the post, can hit 3's & middys when needed, locks up on D, and is a great facilitator who executes to a T. Kempel is going places and those around him will flourish.

[player_tooltip player_id='2129360' first='Gilman' last='Sheldon'] (2025) |6'3 SF| [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']-2

WHY?

I really like his game! I do not know what sort of role he will play for the Patriots but Sheldon would be a dude for most teams in ND. In the right situation at a smaller school, Sheldon would be an All-State type of baller. How much burn does he get for Century, idk... I do know that Sheldon is smart, skilled, has a nose for the ball, scores in & out, is unselfish, boards up on both ends, and is tough as nails. I hope to see him ball again this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632682' first='Makiya' last='Berryhill'] (2026) |6'0 G| [program_tooltip program_id='2413157' first='3ND' last='Hoops Fam']

WHY?

I have always liked his length and skill but his athleticism is starting to catch my eye. Berryhill plays up an age group with 3ND, his confidence continues to grow and his game is evolving. I do not necessarily think of him as a finesse/skilled player anymore, Makiya is becoming a playmaker and athletic finisher. I like his feel, skill, and shooting ability. I think Berryhill is just starting to blossom and his best basketball is ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1169148' first='Parker' last='Falcon'] (2025) |6'6 G| [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

The Falcon was named 1st Team All-Tournament against elite competition. Parker put on a show and shot the lights out! Falcon is a Stock Riser and college coaches have to be super intrigued. His length is impressive and his shooting is top-notch. He is a gamer and clutch shot-maker. I love the fact that Falcon does not live and die by the 3, he also slashed for buckets, rebounded in traffic, and caused problems on D with his length. PHD is excited to see him at the National Open in 2 weeks. We expect him to make some noise this weekend in IL.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657449' first='Weston' last='Scott'] (2027) |6'1 G| [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom']

WHY?

Weston looked fantastic at the Finals and I expect him to be a breakout player this coming high school season in the WDA. Scott has all the tools & smarts to be a dude. He put up impressive numbers at the Finals and showed he is an elite talent against stiff competition. Weston is an impressive slasher, skilled with the ball, finds the open man, a capable 3-point shooter, and a highly impressive finisher. Big things are coming Mr. Scott's way.
