June 21st-23rd I attended the annual prestigious Section-7 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale,AZ. There were 160+ teams from across the West and some out of the area and it is one of the biggest live period that college coaches can view high school teams. It is basically the Super Bowl of HS basketball in the West for three days. The local teams held their own and Millennium even won one of the top brackets.

Here were some of the standout senior forwards I viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='1588005' first='Trey' last='Mckinney'] Perry (Pictured)

A long face-up power forward who will defend and rebound. He got the chance to start in Koa's absence and cashed in. He will catch and shoot and hit the three in rhythm plus score on rebound put backs using his size and long reach. He will be a very important piece to the puzzle for possible 4-peat with his defense to rebound and block shots plus score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1333492' first='Michael' last='Simcoe'] Sandra Day O'Connor

The strong power forward had a great showing. His feel for the game seems to keep improving and makes good reads to teammates. He is a top notch rebounder in heavy traffic, boxes out and will score it from inside and out. He has a feathery touch from the three off of screens off the catch and can pull-up off the dribble. He will create his own offense and crab dribble you into the paint and fall away or use footwork to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301344' first='Kingston' last='Tosi'] Millennium

The forward showed his full repertoire en route to winning a top bracket. He is an out of area rebounder as he often chases it with a very quick second jump and a motor. He scores with rip thrus about as fast as you can into a dunk or two steps into a dunk. He gives hard ball fakes, long euro steps and will score thru contact or get fouled and cashes in on his FT's. He lives at the mid-range game and rises up and is also an efficient perimeter shooter

[player_tooltip player_id='1595012' first='Cristian' last='Acevedo'] Apollo

A physical power forward can score with his back to the basket, face-up from mid-range and in and he is a plus rebounder with two hands in his area. He has a cerebral approach to the game with advanced passing skills. He has a quick spin move to the basket to score and they will play thru him this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] Perry

A physical power forward is undersized but he uses his body to his advantage and has elite hands to catch difficult passes to score effectively and efficiently in the post. He is more athletic then he appears to throw it down easily on the break and he will jab step and rise up. He scores with catch threes and pull-ups from mid-range. He was the heart and soul this weekend for their team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580843' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'] Rancho Solano Prep

A high motored power forward is a tad undersized but grabs out of area rebounds in and out of his area. He was one of the better offensive rebounders I viewed with a big time motor but he can also step out and shoot it from the perimeter to add value to his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950118' first='Jeremiah' last='Robertson'] Casteel

A high motored power forward is a high flying rim runner and will dunk it way above the rim. He is versatile to defend on the perimeter using his twitchy athleticism and then block shots and rebound inside. He scores it efficiently around the basket and brings energy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1369217' first='Donovan' last='Dabney'] Higley

A wing forward with a strong frame. He can dunk it on the break after he grabs the ball off the glass. He will score with put back offensive rebounds and he plays the passing lanes. He plays like a point forward type and makes plays for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2471793' first='Wesley' last='McCants'] Ironwood

A hard working power forward with size and length. He runs the floor well and plays with a big time motor. He rebounds well in and out of his area and gives the Eagles that much needed size. He moved in from out of town last year and looks to make an imprint to this years team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2134484' first='Jamal' last='Ali'] Sahuaro

A long power forward who moves gracefully from end to end. He can size up his opponents to block their shots off the glass. He also impressively defends in space versus wings and guards. He can score inside with put backs, outraces his opponents for layups and then step outside and shoot the three.
