Prep Hoops Next National Championship: Length & Athleticism

The Prep Hoops Next National Championship had a good amount of prospects with length and athleticism. We'll take a look at some of the lengthy, athletic high upside prospects. We have a total of eight on this list.    Jones is somewhat of a rare prospect. He's likely 6'3”-6'4” and a positionless prospect that can handle the ball and played point guard without any limitations. He also has an impressive vertical and I thought he used his length and bounce to rebound at a high level for his team. He used his jumping ability to score over defenders in the paint.     Burnett was one of the tops in overall athletic ability. He could run, move, and jump at an elite level. He got up and down the court quickly. Finished high at the hoop in contested transition situations. Ran the wing hard with length as well. The 6'2” listing I have is an estimation.     Hawley could really fly around the court and cover defensive and transition ground in a hurry. He was impacting the ball-handler with pressure and moving and anticipating opposing offensive ball movement. Another great length and pure athleticism combo.     Reed was one of the most lengthy prospects at 6'4” with long arms and an athletic lower base. He just looks like he could keep growing. He can run the floor quickly from the wing or from rim to rim. He's a Big now but he has the athleticism to translate to a wing as well. He'd need to improve his ball skills significantly. His lateral movement would also need to improve. I'm interested to see how tall he gets and what position he settles in. One of the most intriguing and interesting prospects at the tournament.     Jones is tall and long as an interior 6'4” prospect. His strength is his vertical ability and how he uses it to protect the rim and compete at the rim. He moves well in a straight line, but needs improvement to his overall agility and side to side movement. But he's got the tools already to be an effective interior prospect, if he continues to grow taller and longer.     Bass was one of the most fluid athletes at the National Championship. He effortlessly moves on the court and has a constant motor, which is a great combination. He uses his traits mostly on the defensive end, where he'll pressure and anticipate passes for deflections.     Dubbert makes the list because of his 6'4” size. Not a twitchy athlete or horizontal athlete, but he's constantly moving and engaged. He's versatile offensively with his interior game and capabilities as a shooter and connector on the perimeter. Runs rim to rim well and will move around to find openings and be available for his teammates or scoring opportunities. Defensively, he likes to control the paint and will box out and battle for the ball coming off the rim. Has long enough arms to hold his own defensively on the perimeter.     Bennett is a long interior Big with an athletic-looking frame. Moves well laterally and has good range as a shot blocker and shot alterer. Offensively, he uses his supreme vertical to score over defenders with his soft shooting touch around the rim. High upside and potential.
