<p>New Mexico is filled with outstanding 3-point shooters. Here are some of the best from Classes 3A and 2A heading into the 2024-25 season:</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2373606' first='Jevon' last='Aguilar'], Hagerman</strong>: Few players regardless of classification attempted more 3-pointers last season than Aguilar, who averaged 24.3 ppg. He clearly had the green light to shoot the 3 at any time. He attempted a staggering 291 shots from beyond the arc, making 89 for the most in Class 2A. </p>

<p><strong>Luis Archeluta, Tucumcari</strong>: Archuleta is one of the best all-around players in Class 3A, and his uncanny ability to make 3-point shots allows him to stand out. Last season Archuleta made 39.7 percent of his 3-pointers (31-78) to spark the Rattlers' offense. </p>

<p><strong>Damien Baeza, Escalante</strong>: Baeza didn't have the most 3-pointers in Class 2A last season but he had one of the top shooting percentages, making 28-of-82 shots from behind the arc. Most of his points came via the 3-point shot.</p>

<p><strong>JJ Contreraz, Hot Springs</strong>: More than half of Contreraz's FGA in 2023-24 were from 3-point range. He made 37 percent of those shots (43-117) as he emerged as one of the top 3-point shooters in Class 3A.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2684834' first='Josh' last='Dawes'], Tohatchi</strong>: Dawes' pinpoint 3-point shooting helped him become one of the top scorers in Class 3A last season (18 ppg). He connected on 39 percent of his shots from beyond the arc (42-107).</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2373610' first='Ryan' last='Montoya'], McCurdy</strong>: Montoya made 68 3-pointers for the Bobcats on his way to averaging 17.0 ppg and 6.7 rpg. He hit about 33 percent of his 3-point attempts. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1687822' first='Xavier' last='Nez'], Navajo Prep</strong>: Nez helped power Navajo Prep to the Class 3A state championship with an aggressive mentality from 3-point range. Nez attempted a staggering 225 3-point shots in 2023-24. He made 44 percent of them (99-225). Nobody in the 2025 class in 3A came close to those figures.</p>

<p><strong>Delmar Whitehorse, Cuba</strong>: Whitehorse had one of the top 3-point shooting percentages in Class 3A last season as he connected on 41.6 percent (32-77) of his shots from behind the line.</p>
