June is a critical month in the growth and development of a basketball player. It's a time to improve skills, show off improvements from grassroots season and see how players may fit in with their high school teams this winter. There are players in Michigan that are already showing the dedication this month needed to get better. Let's look at a few of those athletes.

After a really good spring, Marcial has been active in his improvement so far in June. He made a solid showing at the Ferris State prospect camp and can be seen at the Dzone event and at Oakland University later this month. Marcial has a pretty lefty shooting stroke with deep range. He's also showed off a pretty scoop and score when finishing at the rim.

Let's drop a freshman in here for good measure. Smith turned heads already in his summer league play. He hit a game winning triple to top Grand Blanc, showing that he's already a fearless shooter. Smith dealt out some big assists and played tough on ball defense.

Langdon has already been seen at the Wayne State Elite Camp. He was certainly improving his game as well as showing off an impressive skill set. His versatility offensively is eye-popping. Langdon can work back to the basket and finish over either shoulder. He also has a nice 2 dribble drive off the high post and can even step out and bury a triple.

I'm hearing that [player_tooltip player_id='2140479' first='Carter' last='Crippin'] has been putting in work so far this June. I know he's been seen at Strictly Skills developing his game. The talented young lead guard, who proved he could start at the varsity level as a freshman, can fill it up from behind the arc.

This young man needs a ranking ASAP. He attacks the game with a chip on his shoulder and that more than works for him. Wimberly will be at Youngstown State for their prospect camp. I'm sure they'll see his excellent ball handling and decision making skills.
