Below we'll take a look at two NEPSAC prospects head to D3 institutions, an MIAA forward staying in-state at the D3 level, and a prep prospect headed out of region to play D1 ball!

Defalco, who recently finished a post-grad year at the Salisbury School, came off the board when he announced his commitment to Lake Forest College. A high IQ lead guard, Defalco simply put, just knows how to play. He always has his eyes up the floor, can really push the ball in transition, and has impressive floor vision and passing instincts in the half court. He's a consistent perimeter shooter and is crafty with his dribble, consistently getting a piece of the paint. Defensively, he's always in the right position, isn't afraid to mix it up, and is quick to fill the help side rotations drawing a fair amount of charges. He should be a nice match for Lake Forest as they play in the uptempo Midwest Conference where his skills as a true floor general should shine.

Aligbe, one of New England's biggest stock risers this winter, ended his recruitment with a commitment to Southern Illinois University. A threat to score both on the low block and out on the perimeter, Aligbe had multiple impressive performances during his lone season at Winchendon. A mobile and aggressive big forward, he has deceptive quickness and the ability to utilize shot fakes and jab steps to get his defender off balance on the perimeter. He's strong and physically imposing and has no trouble finishing through contact at the rim. His lateral mobility, given his size, is impressive and he shows no issues with guarding on the perimeter when forced to switch. He'll head to the MVC where I believe he'll be able to have a nice career as a versatile stretch-forward that impacts the game with his effort, energy, and compete level.

Shoesmith, one the MIAA's top rebounders this winter, anoounced that he will stay in Massachusetts and attend Worcester State University. A gifted low post scorer with a nose for the ball on the offensive glass, Shoesmith had a terrific senior season at Bedford, proving to be a double-double threat on a nightly basis. While he showcased a mostly interior based offensive game at the high school level, he's made some impressive strides this spring as a pick-and-pop threat on the perimeter. Defensively, he does a good job of moving his feet and walling up in the paint, while relentlessly going after defensive rebounds. The MASCAC is full of high level athletes, but Shoesmith should make his impact as a high IQ and skilled forward for Worcester State.

Blunt, another prospect who spent his post-grad year at the Salisbury School, finalized his college plans with a commitment to Colby-Sawyer College. A long and lean combo-guard, Blunt has a versatile offensive game and impressive tools on the defensive end. He's crafty with his dribble, is a strong cutter off the ball, and has improved his ability to make shots from the perimeter. Defensively, he has long arms and quick feet, allowing him to be a strong on ball defender that's also quiet disruptive in the passing lanes. He'll head to the GNAC where he profiles as a guard that can impact winning in a lot of different ways for Colby-Sawyer over the next few years.
