The Nike EYBL was held in Kansas City over Memorial Day weekend for the final regular season session before Peach Jam in July. Prep Hoops watched all four days and has evals of players across the country! Here we dive into EYBL Kansas City: National 16U Standouts!

Elijah Williams (The Family 16U)

Williams has all the tools you look for in an elite young wing. The 5 star 2026 prospect who is the son of Pistons coach Monty Williams is a big time player. Long and lanky small forward that attacks with long strides getting to the rim and line pretty much at will especially in the first half against Meanstreets. Smooth scorer that also rebounds well and is a good perimeter defender. Also flashed some passing feel. He had 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Navon Shabazz (Meanstreets 16U)

There was a stretch in the second half when Meanstreets needed a bucket they went to their power wing from Iowa. What we like about Shabazz is his physicality on the wing along with how he can play bully ball off the bounce. That is what he did against The Family in spurts.

Caleb Gaskins (Nightrydas 16U)

Gaskins is among the premier wings in the nation in the 2026 class. The strong bodied and athletic small forward put his full repertoire on display vs the Fire scoring 20 points (8-12 FG) and grabbing 8 rebounds. Shot fakes for explosive drives, corner threes off the catch, big dunks, and crashed the glass. Also has a chance to be an excellent defender at the next level. No doubt top 10 national recruit in 2026! It wasn't as dominant of an effort against Brad Beal, but he still had a workman like double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Toni Bryant (Nightrydas 16U)

Bryant is a 6'9” big man from Florida that showcased why he is a high-major talent vs the Mac Irvin Fire. Long and lanky five man that was so active around the hoop. Threw down several absolutely nasty dunks including taking one from the mid-post with one hand over a man. Ran the floor, finished out of the dunker spot, and posted up strong for a key and-1 late. Like what he brings as a rebounder and defender with mobility along with shot blocking. He had 19 points (8-13 FG) and 7 boards. In our second eval of him on Sunday he was equally as impressive against Brad Beal Elite with his length and explosiveness throwing down dunks, rim running, taking it from the mid-post, and event hit a three ball going for 21 points.

Tyseandre Edwards (Mac Irvin Fire 16U)

Edwards joined the Fire this month after starting out with BBE. In their game against Nightrydas he brought the energy especially in the early going. Lefty small forward is a plus athlete that excels in transition, on spin moves, and finishing around the cup. He had 14 points in the loss.

Jaylan Mitchell (Brad Beal Elite 16U)

Mitchell looked every bit the part of what we said he was before he entered high school. The best player in America in the 2027 class! The 6'7” small forward opened the game up against Mac Irvin Fire with a pair of crisp threes. Then he used his physical advantage of size and strength to get to the rack crossing defenders finishing in the paint. Also got on the offensive glass for several and-1s. The skill, IQ, and physical gifts combination is tough to match here. He had 22 points (9-17 FG) (4-6 3PT) and 6 rebounds in the win.

Jamison White (Brad Beal Elite 16U)

White is a big bodied wing from Chaminade that can also play some four as well. Best game of his career against Mac Irvin Fire as he went for 25 points (10-14 FG) and 6 rebounds. It was all about his strength and skill advantage. Bullied his way in the lane and then had the handles to get to his spots to finish. Goes through contact and gets to the line. Love his big bodied spin!

JJ Andrews (Brad Beal Elite 16U)

Andrews is an explosive small forward from Arkansas who is among the best in the country on the wing. His high motor, strength, and elite athleticism are his calling cards. The jumper wasn't falling against the Mac Irvin Fire so he hit the offensive glass for second chance points, cut off the ball to the rim for dunks, and was an all out junk yard dog willing his way to 15 points (6-14 FG) and 8 rebounds.

Miikka Muurinen (Brad Beal Elite 16U)

The Sunrise Christian 6'11” power forward is an intriguing prospect with his size for position and skill. Right now it is a lot of flash moves. Massive tip slam and hit a three against the Mac Irvin Fire for 5 points and 5 rebounds. He has the tools, but we are waiting for it to all click! We saw the consistency in our second viewing of him when on Sunday morning he put on an absolute clinic against Nightrydas scoring 22 points (9-15 FG) and 8 rebounds with feathery jumpers from all over the floor hitting pull up threes as well as ones off the catch. Also displayed explosiveness throwing down some nasty dunks in traffic. This was the kind of performance we wanted to see!

Trey Pearson (Brad Beal Elite 16U)

Pearson is a crafty lead guard from Tennessee that does a nice job of running the show for BBE while still finding his spots to score. That is what he did Sunday morning! Got in the lane for an array of nifty conversions and layups doing a ton of damage in the lane and in the open floor for 14 points.

Jeromy Davis (Georgia Stars 16U)

Davis caught our attention as the 6'5” wing from Brentwood Academy can really shoot the rock. He was 5-6 from distance against Meanstreets. Good size and a free and easy stroke from three are a good combination as he had 21 points in the loss.

Eric Sheffield (Georgia Stars 16U)

Sheffield is a 6'9” five man that has a good frame. He plays with toughness and knows how to use his size inside. Got on the glass for tip ins, had nifty scores around the rim, hook shot, and overall was a monster on the glass with his strong hands going for 20 points and 10 rebounds.
