Head Coach Brent Goers shared some time Saturday evening to update PrepHoopsTN on the Tennessee Brigade 16u spring.

"This season we have pretty much six guys that have been here all season," said Coach Goers. "We have had several guys play a few weekends with us."

[player_tooltip player_id='1827388' first='Adrian' last='Sevieri'] - Eagleville

He is a 5'10" guard from Eagleville. He is often the quickest guy on the floor. He uses his speed on defense to get a lot of steals. He can handle the ball. Shifty. Can create on offense. His perimeter jumper is improving. Probably one thing he can work on is to be more patient on offense. He does also play baseball for the Eagleville baseball team. Most school ball games were during the week, so he was able to play with us too.

I have him as a guard, but he can be a point guard or the off-guard.

We often put him on the other team's best guard. The last two tournaments playing with six, defense really has led the way. They all take pride in it. That keeps us in every game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830520' first='Drake' last='Goers'] - Eagleville

5'9" point guard. Eagleville. He is coach's son. High basketball I.Q. This season he is making a lot of the right plays. He has the ability to break down the defense and get to the second level. Definitely getting into the paint more helps. He is a pass-first point guard, but he has hit some big shots for us this year. He has had a handful of double-figure games. He is a high-energy, pesky defender. He could work on fine-tuning his perimeter shooting, so he could help stretch the defense. Getting to the lane is great, but if he could get up to 35+% from 3-point would be a bonus.

He is just now hitting his growth spurt.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101872' first='Yeshiyah' last='Cobb'] - Oakland

6'3" guard/forward. He can play both. He is from Oakland. He is the best shooter on the team. Really smooth stroke. He can score consistently at all three levels. He has one of the best pull-up jumpers that I have seen. He gets off of the ground. He is a relentless rebounder. Plays a lot bigger than he is. He has an older brother, Elijah, that was 6'8". His dad Johnny Cobb coaches with me and he is 6-foot-8 and played pro. [player_tooltip player_id='2101872' first='Yeshiyah' last='Cobb'] played a lot as a sophomore, but he will be a two-year starter [for them]. He just needs to be a more vocal leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='1860311' first='Joshua' last='Whitt'] - Lancaster Christian Academy

He is about 5-foot-11, guard. The adidas Memorial Classic, in my mind he was the best guard in 16u. His game has really come along. He puts in a ton of work. Gym rat. He can finish around the rim. Uses his body very well. He has a nasty spin move. In the off-season, from last season to this he has added a great mid-range pull-up and he can still hit the 3. He is getting smarter and smarter as to what the right basketball play is. Before the mid-range he might get too deep, but now he will pull-up and nail it. Now he is one of our more vocal guys. I would say, he could improve upon defensive ball pressure. A little more defensive ball pressure, up top.

He is a slasher. Getting him at the "2" or "3"...he is our best rebounding guard. The Indianapolis tournament he averaged a double-double. This weekend he averaged around 7 rebounds per. He will play the 2 or 3 and then go down and bang with other guys.

https://twitter.com/theBRIGADEway/status/1796613371384467554

[player_tooltip player_id='2543761' first='Abe' last='Soucy'] - Providence Christian Academy (PCA)

He is a guy who was injured last year. He was out for 9 months with a knee injury. Was back in time for school ball. He is at PCA. Plays a lot bigger [than his height]. Our last two events we were undersized, but not only do we compete, but we have gone 7-2 the last two tournaments. That means that guys that are playing a lot bigger than they are. He is 6-foot-0. He has bulked up. A lot stronger. Really high basketball I.Q. He has the mind of a coach. He can play four spots.

Malachi White - Oakland

6'0" guard from Oakland. He plays basketball and swims. He is an all-state swimmer for Oakland. Really athletic. He can grab boards, deflections, steals. He can finish at the rim. He can shoot 3's if feet are set. Really good kid. Brings energy and a positive vibe.

To improve, he is a guy that can be more patient on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1947289' first='Camden' last='Cole'] has play with us a couple of times this year. [player_tooltip player_id='2352126' first='Austin' last='Tinnon'] (Tullahoma) and [player_tooltip player_id='2817296' first='Alex' last='Bobo'] (Tullahoma) have played with us some this year. [player_tooltip player_id='2688345' first='Gus' last='Williams'] (6'6" F Grundy County) and [player_tooltip player_id='1766781' first='Christian' last='Bright'] (Green Hill) have played some with us this summer. All of them have played with us at least two weekends. Most of them played four weekends.
