, Sandia: Adams was superb shooting the basketball last season for Sandia, connecting on close to 50 percent of his shots overall (174-351). What stands out is about 40 percent of his shots were from 3-point range. He made 41.3 percent of his long-range shots. Definitely one of the top shooters in the Albuquerque Metro Region.
Michael Beck, Farmington: Also an outstanding receiver in football, the 6-foot-3 Beck made 54.7 percent of his shots (117-214). Most of his attempts came on 2-pointers.
Kayle Covington Kayle Covington 6'3" | SG Lovington | 2025 State NM , Lovington: Overall, Covington shot 52.9 percent (182-344) from the field last season. But he was particularly impressive from 2-point range, making 57.0 percent of his shots (175-307) from close range. Chances were good when Covington rose up for a shot, he was going to make it.

, Hobbs: Henderson stands out because he’s 7-feet tall. But he’s also a very good shooter as seen by his 50 percent success rate in 2023-24. He’s also a decent FT shooter (65 percent). Henderson attempted 5 3-pointers last season, so he’s not afraid to venture outside the paint. Defensively, he’s an active shot blocker.
Sebastian Hernandez Sebastian Hernandez 5'10" | SG Highland | 2025 State NM , Highland: Hernandez took full advantage of his scoring opportunities last season for the Class 4A champions. He averaged just over six shots per game, but made 52.5 percent of his attempts. He was particularly deadly from inside the arc with a 58.3 percent success rate on shorter range shots.

, Valley: Mondragon’s primary role with the Class 4A runner-up Vikings is to distribute the basketball. But when he does get a shot off, it usually goes in. He made 53.0 percent of his shots overall. He was effective from 3-point range, making 9-of-21 shots from behind the arc for a 43.8 percent knockdown rate. Very good shooter from long distance.
