There were tons of under the radar prospects who got a chance to play in front of the top scouting service in the state, and improved their stocks in doing so. Here’s a look at part 3 of some of the standouts at the 17U level.
Mykell Harvey Mykell Harvey 6'2" | SF Northside | 2025 State VA | 6’1” CG | Team Hardy
Harvey was a breakout player during his junior season helping lead Northside to another state championship, and he had a great showing at the Memorial Day Showcase with their top player out with an injury. The 6’1” combo guard took over the majority of the ball handling, controlling the tempo and making good decisions with the ball in his hands. He showed off his athleticism with some impressive finishes, he made tough shots from all over the floor and he brought great energy on both ends of the floor.
June Walker | 6’2” WG | Team Hardy 2024
Walker is one of the best available players from the Roanoke area and would benefit greatly from a post grad year where he can get stronger and get more exposure. He’s a naturally gifted scorer who showed his ability to fill it up in bunches and from all over the floor. He was shifty off the bounce and created space to get shots off in the midrange, he got downhill and finished well at the rim, drilled shots from deep and made plays on the defensive end too.
Quentin Morgan Quentin Morgan 6'9" | C Deep Run | 2025 State VA | 6’9” C | Team Loaded 804
Morgan is coming off a great showing at Southern Jam Fest and continues to show that he’s one of the best big men in the Richmond area. He was aggressive throughout the event, showing his ability to get up and down the floor and dominate in the paint with his size and athleticism. He finished above the rim with ease and authority consistently, he showed good touch around the rim with both hands, rebounded the ball well and protected the rim as well.
Quinzell Roane | 5’11” PG | Circle Sports 2024
Roane was fantastic for Circle Sports in a couple of tough losses, putting up big numbers and playing with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. He’s a true tone setter, showing the ability to guard the ball the length of the floor and turn ball handlers while pushing the tempo offensively as well. He was dynamic in transition with great speed, he showed a quick first step and got the rim aggressively and he showed the ability to create shots for himself and others.
David Miller David Miller 6'6" | PF Green Run | 2025 State VA | 6’6” PF | Team Loaded 757
Miller was one of the most consistent players throughout the event, producing across the board and showing his versatility in doing so. The 6’6” forward played like an absolute grown man, using his physicality in the post to create space to rebound and finish through traffic. He showed his ability to step out on the perimeter and make shots, he guarded well in the pick-and-roll and in post ups and he was highly efficient as a scorer too.
Anthony Lewis Anthony Lewis 6'3" | SF Oscar Smith | 2025 State VA | 6’2” WG | Team Loaded 757
Lewis has had a good spring for Loaded 757 and looks like he could be one of the breakout players in the 757 this year moving forward. The 6’2” wing is long and athletic which allows him to guard multiple positions and make plays defensively, and his fluid and natural movements allow him to make plays in different ways on the offensive end. He can play on or off the ball and knows how to get open in both scenarios, and he made an array of shots from different levels that was very impressive.
