1st State Sports is hosting it's Summer League at two different sites. Although the one at Polytech started last week, Thursday marked Week 1 of the league at Salesianum. There was a great girl game with Howard topping Appoquinimink, followed by 3 boys games. Here are the main standouts for the boys:

[player_tooltip player_id='2352456' first='Nick' last='Baysah'] | 5'9 G 2026 Howard

With it without a screen, Baysah made a profit getting two feet into the paint. The explosive point guard started the game by spoon-feeding his teammates on dump-offs and kick-outs. The defense had no choice but to help down onto him because he was more than willing to lay the ball up if he had an angle. And he put the finishing touches on the game with 8 points in the final stretch, highlighted by an and-one layup. He totalled 14 points and 6 assists in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2456831' first='Isaac' last='Chukwurah'] | 6'4 F/C 2026 Caravel

The 6-4 pass rusher was getting to it around the basket. Chukwurah had his way almost every time there was a missed shot or he caught the ball in the paint. If he couldn't make a layup on the first try, he immediately grabbed the board and put it right back up. His 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks put him on the radar as a hooper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352339' first='RJ' last='Johnson'] | 6'5 F 2025 Salesianum

Fresh off his commitment to Rutgers to play football, Johnson laced up the sneaks and reminded folks why he's one of the best basketball players in the state. He gave Howard a smooth 21 points and 7 boards. In addition to his pair of threes, he found success in the low block. Johnson used just the right amount of his power to bump defenders out of the way for putbacks or to score on post-ups.

[player_tooltip player_id='2358358' first='Marice' last='Kilgoe'] | 6'0 G 2026 Smyrna

Kicking things off in the boys side, Kilgoe was in mid-season form as a rebounder. The two-way combo guard also made an impact at the point-of-attack and as a help defender, hounding St. E's guards and rotating for deflections and contests. His defensive event creation was just as impressive as his shooting. Kilgoe hit four triples on his way to 23 points, 10 boards, and 3 blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2450817' first='Marcel' last='Ramirez'] | 6'0 G 2026 Conrad

A deadeye shooter, Ramirez found his mark versus Caravel. He was white hot in the second half, after mostly moving the ball and playing defense in the first. Ramirez drilled four of his five threes in that period, all of them catch-and-shoot jumpers. Then, with under a minute left, he had the steal and assist to tie the game, finishing with 17 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals, plus the win.
